I must say for those open to various hotel programs, Club Carlson has some great promos. Today I rented a car from Avis for 4 days over Memorial Day weekend (out of LAX) for $95 all-in, plus I get 7500 Club Carlson points for a rental 3+ days. This amount of points is worth 1 night in a Category 2 hotel if you have the Club Carlson credit card.

Did you miss out on:
$400 cash back for the NFL card? 35,000 us air miles after first purchase on the Barclays card? 75,000 MR points on gold card with first yr fee waived? tons of manufacturing spend? still a pretty good quarter imo! |
The devaluations are always a sort point in Q1. The mediocre promos certainly have not caused me to change my selection of service providers.
Nothing special so far this year but the year is young. |

Speaking of manufactured spend, PINs on Visa GCs. That was a Golden (or perhaps Blue, if you would rather) gift from the heavens...

The 100k Amex Plat was a good deal.
There are lots of good fare deals out there, although many are hesitant to post good ones on FT these days |

Glass is half full. :) Too many pessimists running around. 2013 won't be as great as 2011 but it'll be OK. Wife and I are anticipating about 350K>400K each this year. And that's with very little manufactured spend.

GetawaysRus,
We stayed in Milan last year and loved our stay~not into high end shopping. We booked a tour with tours of milan which was wonderful. Alice met us at The Last Supper with our tickets in hand and gave us the history before the viewing. We then walked to Duomo, Galleria, Opera in which she would give us valuable info. This was one of our BEST tours we have taken in Italy and France. Have a great trip! |

With churning and AOR this is easy...unless you don't do that.
When I think of good deals, I think of airline and hotel promos or mistake fares. Like the long foresaken Hyatt FFNs, the SPG Stay3Get1 resort nights, or for airlines double-EQM and mistake fares, even the (accidental?) SQ release of F seats to other FF programs. As some blogsters have posted, we are unlikely to see any good promos so long as business is strong and loads/occupancy are high. Credit cards promos come and go, and mean little to those of us who have neither the time nor inclination to churn (nor IME any use for Carlson points). I guess the beauty of the bonus is in the eye of the beholder. |

Had a GREAT 1st Q. If the rest of the year stays like this, I'll have my best year yet.
