Planning my next trip and would like to travel on Biz or first class from LAX-CPT-KTM-LAX or in reverse direction.

Which Frequent flier redemption would be best? (meaning best availability for November, December or January) I have enough miles for U.S. Airways, Delta, and United for round trip and AA for one way.

Also have some Avios points in case I need to do short segment on this.

TIA

This forum is really about earning points and not using them. That being said...no clue.

One - isn't "redeeming points" = "using them?"
Two - says who? I have given tons of advice about redeeming points in this subforum, and have received advice as well.

OP, I would look into Star Alliance for LAX-CPT, just because Skyteam can be difficult (ATL-JNB is never available at the low level, and getting to CDG/AMS to get down to JNB is tough). With OW, going through LHR/BA introduces tons of surcharges.

With UA miles, you can easily get to Europe, then get down to JNB. Since South African is a partner, JNB-CPT should be easier as well. Try checking availability now.

As for KTM, that really isn't on the way between CPT/LAX, so you'd kind of need to do 3 one-ways.

Don't forget that Alaska Air allows you to redeem CX from USA-HKG-JNB, and there's rumors that one-way awards are available. And I believe you get a stopover on a r/t, so you could build a stopover at HKG and use that as a jumping off point for KTM.

Touche, edited halfway through writing and didn't proofread.

Redemption questions are better off in whichever Alliances forums you want to book with (ST, *A or OW). Not sure which one would be best since we don't know if you want to do an open jaw, multi destination or what not. I'm assuming you want to do a multi-destination since you don't care about routing.

Just booked something similar for Jan 2014 with United miles. YUL-SAN (stopover) - LAX-JFK-JNB-LHR-LAX-SAN for 120k each. Seems like there's decent availability if you're a bit flexible.

I always see a surprising amount of availability to KTM on *A. Bookable on UA.com.

Most connections are through BKK, on TG.

Korean also flies the route, although they have a bunch of blackout dates you need to look out for. If you can find availability, LAX-ICN-KTM is a darn quick route to KTM. Otherwise, you're looking at 2 stops, flying TG.

I would like either CPT or KTM as my stopover and the other as my destination. Is this a legal connection?

I am searching United.com. Thanks all for the suggestion.

Try milez.biz

Will give you a list of FFPs and how much it'll cost you on each. Can only do Origin to Destination though (I think).

IMO you should try to prioritize using your Delta miles first, if at all possible. Skypesos are quite bad so burning them would be good.
