No. They are not. I do plan to milk the eqms with hopes that the combined network will take on whatever status. I do NOT agree with the above poster stating that the eqms won't transfer to American... it just doesn't make sense if it doesn't.

It's not all about credit cards
They say the merger will be completed third quarter this year. So we have a bit of time to acquire miles in both programs, and time to book Star Alliance tickets with U.S. Airways miles before they become American Airlines (One World) miles. Some thoughts on planning ahead:
The U.S. Air program will be merged into the American Airlines program. So plan to gather as many U.S. Air miles now as possible before those opportunities disappear. Here are some suggestions of things to think about and perhaps discuss here. The locations references listed in the parentheses are to my website below so newbies can find descriptions of and links to them easily. None of these programs earn me any kind of commission.

. I'm not too worried about it...I suspect we'll have another year or so of separate operations. .
Any idea if, when or how long this specific deal might last? |

AA has a great milage rate to europe (fly and return before may 15th) for 40k miles (with a refund of 10% of those miles) if fee's charged to your AA credit card.
The 10% refund is for having a Citi AAdvantage platinum credit card. It's good for up to a 10k refund per year. That too isn't changing anytime soon. |

You've got some terrific resources there. I'm taking a closer look at some of the offerings and will likely dip my toes in the water on several. Thanks for researching all this for us and putting it up on your site. |
great info!

I did the 21st Century quote a few weeks ago, just posted today so still working. |
There's also the 100% Buy miles bonus until 28 Feb. Does anyone think this will be the last time they run this promo? Or are they more likely to run it trying to raise more cash?

Im concerned that after the merger is done this nice deal will be taken off the boards. For the same dates, US airways is asking for 60k airmiles.
Any idea if, when or how long this specific deal might last? The US off-season awards...35k Y / 55k J but a much narrower travel window...are probably an endangered species at this point. |

The 40k off-season award has been around for many years. Since it's an AA award, my guess is that it'll still be around in the future.
