Would there be any advantage to getting a charge card if a person just pays their credit card off each billing cycle?

AC flies non-stop YYZ-CUR on Saturdays, if that works in your case. It's the only *A into CUR at the moment.

What is "*A"?

*A = Star Alliance, a global airline alliance whose members include Air Canada, United, and many other carriers. Miles from any Star Alliance carrier's frequent-flyer program can be redeemed for travel on any Star Alliance carrier (subject to award-seat availability, of course).

I thought both the Ink Bold and the Ink Plus get the 50K bonus.

They do. Assuming you pay it off every month, there's basically no difference between the two cards. The Ink Plus is newer, so I'd go for the Ink Bold, though there's really no good reasoning behind that except the off chance that the Ink Plus bonus will be around longer.

I'm looking into the Chase Ink Bold right now.

I've read that it is a charge card not a credit card. What does that mean?

Thanks.

Would the 25,000 Starpoints(Starwood) be useful for this trip? I've been thinking about applying for about a year but haven't done it yet.

SPG you would have to spend 5K to get the full 25K. You would only get 10K on first purchase.

Also as someone mentioned the Hyatt CC would get you 2 free nights at ANY Hyatt property.
