Wiki updated for NH.

Perhaps the weakest aspect for NH LT membership is that there will be no LT status(Gold/Platinum/Diamond) even if you achieve the milestones. I checked that with their customer service. It's just that you can get LT miles on award tickets, which, however, help you to get something back on NH :/

That is my plan.

My wife and I have lifetime United Club membership (originally CO Presidents Club), so that would be a good combination for us.

Oneworld: IB offers lifetime as well:

Infinita (OW Emerald)

To get this card you need to have obtained 125.000 Elite Points since you signed up to the Iberia Plus programme. Once you get it, this card will be for life.

Infinita Prime (OW Emerald)
https://www.iberia.com/gb/en/iberiaplus/infinita-prime/
To get this card you need to have obtained 200,000 Elite Points since you signed up to the Iberia Plus programme. Once you get it, this card will be for life.

How do I do this to get the maximum benefit? How much Avios to use or what is the minimum Avios required to get the fare to count toward status?

Make a dummy cash booking. Some where will be an option to pay with cash & avois

Is OZ regarded as the best play for someone wanting to work incrementally towards lifetime status (no travel for work) so just leisure travel (with the occasional cheap business ticket)

The perks of having two years to attain and then keep *A G are the main wo things I've factored in

Thanks!

Hi regarding MS, Egypt Air Plus, is the part of requirement to fly MS metal, actually something like NH’s programme when you get benefits for life on NH metal but not necessarily *G status ?
  • MS: Lifetime Platinum (*G) after 1M miles on MS flights (or all *A flights ??)

lifted this from their website

When your account reaches a total of 1,000,000 flown miles earned from flights onboard EGYPTAIR flights,
or Star Alliance Members Carriers the membership level will be upgraded to the platinum level.

Additional benefits for EGYPTAIR Plus Members on EGYPTAIR flights only

- An extra 40% of the miles entitled for every flight (operated by EGYPTAIR flights)
- Meet & Assist service at Cairo Airport.
- Extra miles on special occasion.
- Unlimited mileage validity.
- Platinum for life.

When Marriott renamed the 75-night status from Platinum to Titanium in August 2018, and eliminated prospective lifetime Tit. qualification at year end, that option was foreclosed.

Adding Avianca and Alaska. Putting AS under Oneworld as they are to join the alliance in 2021

AV: Member must earn 1MM (Lifetime Gold, *G) via AV and affiliate metal, be 60 years of age AND be a LifeMiles or previous program member for 15 years. 2MM gives Lifetime Diamond. Program is called CENIT

AS: 1MM earns lifetime MVP Gold and Gold 75K at 2MM. AS metal only

As it is not summer 2021 to me premature to add AS to the Oneworld list. AS could/will change the ffp between now and then.
