Booking 1 way econ Brisbane to Bangkok
Have points on aa, united, delta, and some Qantas. Flight is soon on 6/22. Bought refundable economy ticket before learning how to do apporama for points and looking to save that $940. Any help with best usage of points is appreciated.

How many points do you have?

AA charges 25K miles for a Coach award seat from Australia to Thailand. Not sure about UA or QF. Forget about DL: they charge the full round-trip award price for one-ways. |

Couldn't find anything on QF to BKK.
For 78,000 QFF points + tax you can do BNE-HKG-BKK on CX in Business on 21 June. i THINK you could get that routing on AA (in business) for 35,000 miles plus booking fee, taxes and late ticketing fee (<21 days til departure). However those fees may run fairly big $$$ wise especially considering the late ticketing fee, so it would seem a fairly big waste of miles I think (assuming you have 35k spare) |
I wasn't able to find anything on either OneWorld (AA miles) or Star Alliance (United miles) for the 22nd. Is the date flexible at all?

generally speaking (and this is not a blanket rule) AA miles are far more valuable than Qantas.
In addition the amount of miles is far less (sometimes as much as half the amount) and Qantas charge ridiculous fees for their award tickets. |
I would use a tool like AwardNexus to search for *A or OW options.

You could also use Awardtravelr.com. It doesn't require you to sign up (although Award Nexus is free for Flyertalk members anyway)! Both are great! |
