Gulf took about 10 days to get back to me, and another 5 weeks for the tags/ card.

Finally became Gold with Etihad, after applying for the Status Match...They sent me the card 4! months later than my first request by email..

Anyone of you having the feeling that the Etihad Guest people are replying after too much time? Example: I've request to credit the Miles from an airline partner, 1 month later and still no reply..

status match

Hey there, im trying to status match to United and then to Turkish. I currently hold a Air Berlin gold (sapphire) membership. Is there any way I can get a match to gold with United by matching my Air Berlin gold to a different airline first?? I know that United will only give me silver if I match my air berlin sapphire.

Expect a reply within a few days and your card 14 days later.^
So airberlin will status match *A top tier to the OW second-level tier? Or am I misreading this? Are there any OW airlines that will match *A Gold to OW Emerald? (I kind of miss being Emerald, now I've been demoted.)

The highest match given will only be sapphire statu like AB are giving now. NEVER will you see any airline giving out Emerald as a match. Qantas recently had a status match promotion also only to sapphire status. Cathay pacific too the maximum they give is sapphire.

OWE is significantly more valuable the *Gold, which is why you rarely see matches to it.

You do sometimes see matches for specific high tiers (i.e. UA 1k to AA EXP), but you won't see generic *G to OWE.

Hi Yes only matched to Sapphire which in hindsight was a waste of time and effort as I am now OW silver heading for gold. I had misunderstood the match offer and thought gold was the top tier also for AB, whereas its platinum. You live fly and learn!

I applied for a Gulf Air status match around 3.5 weeks ago but have had nothing back and status is still blue. Has anyone waited longer than this?

Guess I'll politely email them again.
