Any way to status match/challenge to UA 1k? I know it's only to Platinum that the do a challenge, but is there any way to do the challenge and then fly just another 25k more to get 1k?

Curious...... no such mention on their website. Also short sighted as you could travel with an airline fitting the mould but credit somewhere else.....

UA status does not work that way, 1K != Plat + 25k. Normal 1k qualification requires 100K miles.

The UA Corporate status match appears to match either Delta DM or AA ExPlat to 1K, so if your company has a contract with them, you might look into it.

I got the same message trying to match to Virgin Australia Gold. I looked back at the offer and the first sentence says: "We offer you the opportunity to participate in a challenge to join our Elite Categories, offering frequent passengers of other airlines that operate Aerolineas Argentinas routes, a similar level in our Aerolneas Plus program."

I completely overlooked that when I submitted my status match request. I also have TK Gold from another status match, but I have no activity or miles so I don't think AR would match.

This must be new, I got matched to Oro with NZ*G... Maybe they were just overwhelmed by the number of ppl applying....

So Turkish will not match AA status?

And can you recieve confirmation now for your status? I first discovered that status in system wasn't updated after successful match, and then got confirmed that status match was revoked due to given reason...

Has anybody managed an Air France or KLM match to any other elites? I am elite with VS, OW, Skywards and Star and sent email to Air France email 3 months ago with no reply.

Went Iberia Plat to AR. Was sent a confirmation email just eight hours after I submitted a picture of my membership card (no statement)! They did not confirm which tier they matched me to in the email and the status has not yet updated online. I'm hoping to use the status on a DL flight in 2 weeks. Does anyone know how long it takes them to upgrade the status/mail the card?

Flying Blue only has status match deals so now and then (announced). At any other moments they simply don't do it.

I am AA PLT. Is there any way to get UA Gold without any "fly X miles in 90 days" sort of thing?

If you don't want to fly, why do you want UA Gold? Seems to me the only time elite status has any value is when you are flying.

I believe he would like the status prior to flying with them, so the flights he does take with UA are more enjoyable. Just my guess, though.

Silver matches to MVP; Gold matches to MVP Gold.

AF/KLM Flying blue, will match gold members of any alliance program.

Received my status match challenge from UA Gold to DL Gold using the link earlier in this thread and a scan of my UA card.

Took 18 days to process.

I could see nowhere where they specifically say you have to have a DEN address but I suspect it could be so.

After a few weeks of getting a message that I was granted platino status at the AR program, I contacted them as my status on the site was still unchanged.

I got a message back:

Has anyone had any luck matching LAN Pass Premium Silver (OW Sapphire) over to TAM's program?

I recently received a mailer from LAN regarding mutual benefits as a result of the merger (TAM lounge access, for example) but I'd prefer a match for full Star Gold status.

Yes, exactly :) seems they used same template first to everyone to advice about status match to Platino, and then same template to refuse it "as your airline do not operate AR routes"(??? what should that mean?)...

I am looking to switch my South American travel from LAN to TAM. I have enjoyed the use of lounges etc. even when flying Y on LAN thanks to BA Silver card, are there any opportunities to get TAM to match to anything equivalent, perhaps under the vainhope I might switch my l/h flying from BA to TAM.

Or do I put up with it until TAM join OW (assuming LAN don't head off to Star Alliance).

Current plan is that TAM will leave Star, but no date yet. They still have about 1.5 year to do so according to the merger approval.

I had heard similar, but didn't realise the timescales were quite so long. Looking for Avios or rather TP options between GRU & EZE. LAN used to have crazy prices on Y+ if you booked flexible tickets with 2 or 3 months between them, I am guessing they realised this and put the price up. Refuse to fly LAN Y - rather refuse to eat the god awful ham and cheese croissant - so going to give TAM a try this time. Bonus is I can fly from AEP not EZE.

many of the flights I want are now on OW, or will be shortly. I am a Plat DL, 1K UA. what's the best status matching strategies for OW? and which airlines? US is still*A for at least the next 6 months.
EWR is my home airport.
Most flying is long haul international.

Obviously, I would contact AA first - here. It looks that they are still matching - look at the end of thread.

CX will match to Gold (only OW Sapphire), maybe more, but not sure if it is helpful in your case.

BA generally don't match, but if you ask your Travel agent, he may help...

I don't think it means you need to fly for it to be active. It states that your new status will be present on your next flight and that they will send your card out shortly.
