Feasible effort?
Hey guys,
Thanks to some help from this forum I was successful in flying to Japan in february for free. You are all amazing and I thank those who answered my newbie questions! So, part two. An opportunity to revisit Japan has been sprung on me... in about two weeks. I was wondering if you guys think if it's even feasible to pull of the miles requires in that short span of time (I think it's 60k round trip). I have, to my knowledge, less than 1000 miles. Pardon me if this is the wrong forum section... not sure where else to drop this. Cheers friends :D P.s. has anyone done something this quickly before? |
Hi
Leaving the (non)availability issue aside for such popular last minute In'tl coach RT, I don't foresee any way you can get 60k miles within the next 2 weeks. Any new CC bonus will take, at minimum, 4-6 weeks from the get-go just to reach your FF account. So is it possible for you to be able to do this again with miles? Absolutely. ^ Is it possible to do it this month? I doubt it. |
Oh duh, totally forgot the time it takes for them to hit the acct... well that's a bummer.
Guess I gotta go make the 1600 bucks to fly there haha. Freelance like a mofo. Thanks for the response! |
On the off-chance that you have had an Amex Platinum card for > 6 months, you could get a 60k point MR advance and transfer them to a partner like DL or Aeroplan.

There were some good DL mileage run deals to Japan recently - $500 RT AI, might want to play around with Vayama.com to see if there are any left - check the MR Forum for more info.

Looks like it may be gone now, but that said I did manage to find some prices previously with some effort (changing the flight dates around a lot).. but maybe too late now - here is the link:
