Question regarding miles posted incorrectly
 

I am sure that many of you have experienced miles posted to your account incorrectly. My question is that when miles are added to our account incorrectly, did the FF program ever subtracts the miles at a later time? I did read a few posts saying that the program sometimes correct their own mistakes (i.e. miles from flight activities). Do they also correct the mistake from partner activities? What are your experiences?

a double posting of a LH flight (LH flight number and LH as carrier) last year 1998 was corrected on my UA mileage plus account about 5 months later without any message to me.

Yes, this happens. I was incorrectly given a Hilton bonus, for number of stays in a quarter. It used to be that you needed 7 stays in a quarter, now they have changed it to four stays. Somehow they credited me with the bonus based on 4 stays for a quarter when the new rule was not valid. But they later subtracted the bonus.
