Need help for award ticket for SFO-HYD-SFO

I need some help booking an award ticket from SFO-HYD-SFO. Dates are 25 April and return on 5/6 May.

I have enough miles in AA and United for Business class tickets but unable to find a decent itinerary. Some of them are showing 48 hours for one-way.

Can anyone pl. help with suggestions. I am open for TATL or TPAC as long as a ticket is available.

The only *A airline that flies to HYD is TG via BKK. I just did HYD-BKK-NRT-LAX-SFO-IAD on outbound, IAD-ORD-NRT//HND-SIN//SIN-BKK-HYD for a friend in C. He wanted to overnight in both TYO and SIN on the return. The weird LAX-SFO and IAD-ORD waggles were just forced because of availability. Below is, I believe, the most optimum *A routing.

Code:

  1  UA 889 Y 06SEP 4 SFOPEK GK1        I  1154A 315P+1 AB
    SEE RTSVC
  2  TG 615 Y 07SEP 5 PEKBKK GK1        3  505P 915P  AB
    SEE RTSVC
  3  TG 329 Y 07SEP 5 BKKHYD GK1          1010P1210A+1 AB
    SEE RTSVC
  4  TG 330 Y 15SEP 6 HYDBKK GK1            110A 615A  AB
    SEE RTSVC
  5  TG 676 Y 15SEP 6 BKKNRT GK1            735A 345P  AB
    SEE RTSVC
  6  UA 852 Y 15SEP 6 NRTSFO GK1        1  525P1040A  AB
    SEE RTSVC

You'll have to turn to someone else for OW help, but I think 9W might be best for AA miles. BA flies to HYD, but their fuel surcharges will be quite high.

Don't forget AA's all-partner awards, which has non-alliance partners such as Kingfisher and Jet Airways...

Yes, thank you. The email notification didn't show the strikethrough on IT. I came here to say that you most definitely should forget IT/Kingfisher.

How about SFO-ORD/JFK on AA and ORD/JFK-AUH-HYD on EY? You will have better luck on EY than other OW airlines to India in Premium class these days.

I did and got and economy blocked on EY for 24 and 5 return. I am still looking for Business class award ticket.

You can do SFO-HKG-BKK for 55K miles one-way in C or in F for 67.5K miles. You can get to SIN or CMB for the same miles.
BKK-HYD you can look into using UA miles on TK.

delete...hadn't refreshed my page before posting comments about EY

Thanks for all your replies. I blocked a economy seat on Etihad(EY): SFO-ORD-AUH-HYD-AUH-ORD-SFO.

Searching for a business class award seat. I could not book earlier as my program was finalized just today.

I will search daily for space out of JFK/ORD.

There is space on the 25th in C SFO-ICN-BKK. First flight is on OZ the next two are on TG.

The return isn't showing anything into SFO in C. There is UA F there if you have the miles and want to use them. I'm trying to find any flight in C to the US on your dates and can only find F. There is a flight into JFK on EgyptAir which is a poor redemption value and a connection in CAI is required.

Another potential solution would purchasing a revenue ticket to Mumbai where there are several connections open. SQ has C space through SIN to ICN linking up with the UA flight to SFO. This flight leaves BOM at 22:10 so connecting isn't an issue.

First is available out of JFK - can't you scrounge up the extra miles?

I was able to get a Business class ticket finally :p

I will now start looking for information about AA/EY lounges in ORD/AUH/HYD.

Routing is: SFO-ORD-AUH-HYD & HYD-AUH-JFK-SFO

Last leg:JFK-SFO is available only next day(3rd May). I will buy a regular ticket for this sector but all others I am confirmed.

Thanks to all who shared their advice & expertise.

Just a side note.AA does not allow TPAC to india.but the good thing is AA and united both allow one way awards.
you would be able to find better availability if you change to MAA / BLR as dragon air and singapore airlines fly there.Once in MAA / BLR, you could connect through Jet.

A few questions, I did search but didn't get answers.

1. Will I be allowed to use the AA lounge in SFO?(I am in coach Sfo-ord).

2. Do I need to pay for checked baggage for above portion, I have a business class ticket from Ord onwards.

1. No.

2. If you got AA to ticket it all on one itinerary, then, you should be able to check the baggage in for free and to the extent that Etihad allows in their Coral Business class (2 x 32 Kilos?)

Happy journey! Would be interested in your experience overall on the SFO-ORD-AUH-HYD leg - am planning an identical journey in early November and would like to know a few things:

a) Is the baggage checked through by AA from SFO all the way to HYD?
b) Is the transfer from Terminal 3 (American Airlines domestic) to Terminal 5 (for Etihad) in ORD smooth and quick enough?
c) Ease of transfer in Abu Dhabi
d) Etihad's service and food onboard in Business Class

If any of these turn out to be subpar/messy, would take a big gulp and go for British Airways for SFO-LHR-HYD, fuel surcharges and all!

Thanks in advance!
