SK flies OSL-KEF seasonally as well if you were interested in using OSL or another *A hub in Europe as a "stopover"

I miss when Delta had the MSP-KEF route. I was hoping to use some of my Skypesos on that route this or next year, but I noticed they discontinued that route. Does anyone know when they shut that down?

Call Icelandair. I had a DB voucher with them, and there was no availability at first on the flights I wanted. On the phone, they told me to hold on a second and finally found me a seat (despite this booking class being normally gone). They were really helpful on the phone.

The best reason to do this is because you get a free stopover in Iceland with continued travel to over 20 destninations in Europe.

I did Iceland and Stockholm for just over $700 R/T.

I thought it was worth it.

Not a bad deal.

I tried that twice some years ago, and both times I was told that the fare class did not allow for a stopover, even though in the second case they trumpeted that option in the fare sale email itself. It ticked me off, and the service in Y was truly pathetic the last time I flew them. I stopped flying Icelandair because of that and because they began to de-emphasize their MSP gateway. I don't believe they fly from MSP anymore.

So I've been to the airport several times without ever seeing Reykjavik.

Delta never flew MSP-KEF nonstop. Last summer when they began service to KEF from JFK, the flight number for Iceland service originated in MSP and stayed the same out of JFK, even though the a/c changed from an A-320 to a B-757.

Delta pulled out of KEF earlier than planned last fall, so I was a bit surprised to see that service begins again out of KEF on June 1 this year. I thought with the early pull out, they would not return, even though loads were quite good.

Definitely a good use of DL miles. Iceland is a great place to visit.

They still do, but only in the spring/summer months.
