New Netflix Offer - 2500 AA miles

Didn't see this new offer posted yet, if it is feel free to delete or merge. Just received this email offer an hour ago.

2500 miles for new customers ($7.99 membership).

There's actually a 3000 mile version: https://aa.netflix.com/aabonus/?src=nflxaa300511

too bad i already have it :\

longhorn11 Feb 15, 2012 11:45 am

Thanks. I tried to do a search and nothing came up. 3k is obviously better. :)

MisterSelfish Feb 15, 2012 12:09 pm

I stumbled upon that when searching myself, for whatever reason most blogs only have the 2.5K version posted.

The wife and I already had an account (discs + streaming), but when I saw the offer we got rid of streaming and started to separate accounts, one after the other. The best part (other than the 3K miles!) was when I added back streaming to the main account Netflix remembered what was in our instant queue. ^

can someone sign up, pay for one month and then cancel after the month is up? iT DOES SAY CANCEL ANYTIME.
Is 3000 miles worth $7.99?

I have been a Netflix paid subscriber for more than 3 years. Now I am wondering if I should open and cancel accounts every month to pocket 3000 miles/month. Will it work?

Doubtful. From their T&C:
"Current and previous members are ineligible. One redemption per household."

One per household would seem to preclude the infinite cancellation and reactivation you're asking about.

Great deal for 3K AA miles - Thanks.

Yeah, I signed up for Netflix last year, then heard about the bonus miles like a month or two later. :(

Perhaps somebody else is interested in Netflix in your house? I canceled because we had a movie sitting on our coffee table for a whole month, then a few months later the bonus offer appeared, so it encouraged my wife to start up again. No problem with the points posting.
As to opening and closing every month, even if it worked, don't do that. They'll just shut it down for legitimate sign-ups too.

To my knowledge it really isn't enforced. My wife and I maintained our main account with only the discs sent to our house.

Otherwise we later opened 2 digital only accounts and canceled them before each account hit the month marker.

I tried calling in to Netflix to get the bonus for being a loyal member (we've had them for 5+ years), and the CSR gave me a song and dance about AA being responsible for the promotion.

I doubt you'd be able to do the infinite renewal since they would likely limit it to one bonus per AA account.

Let's try this again shall we?

3000 AAdvantage Miles > 2500 AAdvantage Miles

Does that make sense god?

God: Yes, my child. Your math pleases me much.

I'm sorry, I just had to. :p

I'm not in it to churn it but, since I sort of want to get Netflix again, can this offer work if I try to sign up for a digital only account? I originally had an account with them that was streaming+dvds. Do I need a new email and physical address?
