LAX-CPH, which airline
Hey all,
I've got to fly to Copenhagen (Aarhus or Aalborg, actually) and I've got a few comparably priced options. I wanted to gather your thoughts. I'm looking into maximizing quality of service and mileage earning. I've only flown to Europe three times previously, and I'd also like your opinions on the merits of 2 "short" flights vs. a TATL + puddlejumper. AC (T): $823 - connecting in YYZ SK (K,L,L,K): $828 - connecting in ORD, with LAX<->ORD codeshares. UA/CO (T): $829 - connecting in EWR KL (N,L,L,N): $855 - connecting in AMS LH (T): $874 - connecting in FRA, MUC, with a CPH-MUC SK codeshare on the return. At this point, I prefer SK least, as K and L earn only 25% EQMs/MQMs on United. Thanks for the help. |
do you want alternate routing suggestions?
post the mi from each of the trips....perhaps that will help....you are going to credit the mi to ua? will you get 500 min on any flights because of status? |
If you've got routing suggestions, that's fantastic. I want to return home as directly as possible, as I'll have some samples on dry ice. With my dates (04/30-05/01), I'm pretty sure these routings are fairly solid. Of course, I won't stop you from contributing ideas if you've got 'em.
Regarding elite status, I'm silver on Delta through February, but not thereafter. I'd probably credit all *A miles to UA, and any ST miles to Delta (though I've considered Alaska). AC: LAX-YYZ-CPH-YYZ-LAX - 12165 mi SK: LAX-ORD-CPH-ORD-LAX - (8541mi * .25) + 3489 = 5624 mi UA/CO: LAX-EWR-CPH-EWR-LAX - 12643 mi KL: LAX-AMS-CPH-AMS-LAX - 11946 mi LH: LAX-FRA-CPH-MUC-LAX - 11795 mi + (927 * .25) = 12259 mi There's also: $865 - Swiss: LAX-ZRH-CPH-ZRH-LAX - 13057 mi I've never flown AC, SK, KL, or LH before, so I'm not sure if there's a difference in quality of service in coach. Thanks |
