Miles through Western Union Money Transfer
 
My friend said you can transfer 10K USD for USD 75. Any ideas if we get miles/points through the credit card?

They will not take CC payments.

They do, but the high fee assessed doesn't make it worthwhile. For instance, sending $10K with a credit card like the OP stated would cost $438 or 4.38%. Western Union/MoneyGram already thought of this and the fee charged takes into account their cost of accepting a credit/debit card. Furthermore, the issuing bank of the card used may consider/reclassify the transaction as a cash advance, incurring you further fees.

I did a Western Union money transfer to a friend in Rwanda a few days ago on my Chase Sapphire Visa and it was categorized as a "cash advance."

email them to dispute it. they changed it to a purchase for me before
