Help me meet my girlfriend in Japan
I live in Toronto, Canada. I don't have a lot of money (obviously not enough for a flight) and I am trying to meet my girlfriend in Japan, so I'm exploring all options to see how I can go see her.

You've given us nothing.
1. Dates
2. Budget
3. Credit score
4. Ability to spend $ on credit cards for certain bonuses.
Japan is a lot of miles. Maybe 60 to 80K on most airlines.

My dates are completely flexible. Anytime in 2012 is fine. I only have around $500 right now to spend. How can I check my credit score? I make timely payments every month ever since I've had my credit card from 5 or 6 years ago, so I assume my credit score is pretty high.

Start with Credit Karma to get your TransUnion score. I know some say it's not that accurate in regards to a Fico but I've found mine to always be about 50 points higher than my Fico's. At least you'll know if your score is 750+ you probably have a good chance at new cards. 3k spend for the Sapphire Preferred to get 50k. No spend on the Continental card to get 50k. Is your girl Japanese?
