Another factor working in US' favor is the UA hub at IAD for non-stop international and west coast travel. Having a Star Alliance hub 30 miles away is really a nice complement to the short and medium haul nonstop service US provides from DCA.

USAir routes arent really that great outside of shuttle convenience. if you fly to west coast or international, you have to make a connection regardless. hence i recommend United/CO program. |

I fly mostly DCA-west coast and am very price conscious (mostly personal travel, always deep discount economy). I will end up AA Gold, my very first elite status of any kind, this year, as they've usually had the best prices and I can take the very nice AS nonstop to LAX.
AA seems to be cutting everything from service, benefits, routes and a lousy domestic hard product and shoot, the int'l product can be lame too if you get stuck on the 75L etc If I wasn't so heavily invested in AA, I'd look elsewhere. YMMV, but I'd consider UA/CO, continue on US, or DL as much as I hate to say it.. skypeso's is really not the place one wants to be but when I start putting them near AA, that tells you the direction AA is going.. |

Interesting that you point out how I want to leave but ahh such much into AA already.... I think that is feeling a commenly found amoung flyers but it is a big project to switch airlines. not to mention a pain. AA and DCA don't really go in the same sentance though It pains me to suggest US...... Delta is an option The washington area is a star Alliance fortress I would fly AA but connecting through NEW YORK DFW or ORD to go INTL it is like whyyyyyy :rolleyes:..... Then I wake up and go board my united flight |
