500,000 Points in a single churn

Has anyone scored 500,000 points or more in a single App-O-Rama?

I'm on track to do it. I call it my Evel Knievel churn. It includes 13 card applications (so far, 10 are confirmed approved). The beauty of it is that I only expect 7 or 8 inquiries. Once my credit score "bounces back", I may still have difficulty getting approvals due to a high number of new accounts, but I'll worry about that later. I estimate more than $5,000 in value from this churn.

Here is a list of the cards involved:
Amex Gold Business - 50,000
Amex SPG Business - 25,000
Amex Delta Gold Business - 30,000
Citi ThankYou Premier - 50,000
Citi ThankYou Preferred - 50,000
BoA Alaskan Airlines - 25,000
BoA Hawaiian Airlines - 35,000
BoH Hawaiian Airlines - 35,000
Chase Ink Bold Business - 50,000
Chase Priority Club - 60,000
Barclays Travelocity - 20,000
Barclays US Airways - 40,000
Discover Miles - 12,000

More details here.

Good job and good info in your blog post! It's nice to see that you are using some methodology and discovery behind your massive app-o-rama rather than just making another "I sent in a bunch of applications and got a bunch of points" post. I'm excited for people when they make a big score, but it's even better when they add more data to the knowledge base. Again, good job!

Spend

Good information. What kind of minimum spend will you have to reach?

Cumulative $30,000 in the first six months. It's more than I spend so I will have to purchase some gift cards and live off those for a while...

It would be much lower except that one of the Amex cards has a $10,000 requirement. This obviously will be the toughest one to meet.

Do you have a link for this "Barclays Travelocity-40,000"? If this indeed 40K points with Travelocity, it'a a heck of a deal.

13 apps in 1 day?

Good luck with the churn. 13 apps in 1 day is unheard of.

Why do I see a similar post every 2 or 3 weeks? Deja vu? :D

Sorry, that was a clerical error. It's actually 20K points, but worth $400. I guess I need to hire a proofreader.

New Barclays Travelocity Amex Offer - 20k points ($400 travelocity.com credit)

Despite this error, I still hope to hit 500K+ points since I will transfer my 70,000 HA points into 140K HHonors points.

+1 - That would definitely be on my radar if I can get it with 40K - That's $800 in redemption through Travelocity and you can still get FF miles for your flight!

Why no hotels or Southwest

saw your post.
Why are you not including any hotels in your churn, especially with the new Marriott at 70K or Hilton at 60K.

In addition why did you not include the new Southwest Air 50K.

I am guessing that he didn't want to do more Chase, Citi or AMEX than what he/she did. The OP may already have the SWA card or doesn't fly SWA.

Nice selection of cards. I trust that the OP's credit file is fairly thick (lots of accounts with lengthy history) as there may be a risk of adverse action by creditors with the large number of recent applications.

Maybe I'm just dense but why woudn't you just stagger these offers so you could more easily meet the spend, who wants to buy gift cards just to meet a spend? Are these offers going away or do you need the miles/points for a specific trip?
