what do people think about this card and the 75,000 mile offer I think I saw somewhere

Like the OP I'm wondering what people think my next move should be. Here's where I stand (x2 meaning my wife and I both have the card):
UMP Visa; 125k UMP miles Amex Plat x2; 200k MR points between us. Chase Sapphire x2; 100k UR points between us. I'm thinking the AA 75k cards are the way to go but am curious if there's a reason to do something else instead? We travel to Asia semi-regularly (every couple of years or so), somewhere else internationally about once every 10-12 months, and domestically a handful of times per year. Upcoming trips in 2012 so far are Texas, Seattle, possibly Hawaii, and India; maybe Paris or London. We travel from the NYC area. |
I think the AA cards is the way to go, especially because you travel a lot.

Get 2x more with the Biz cards. As others have mentioned, Sapphire Preferred is still strong at 50k, and I use it for all dining purchases. No foreign transaction fees is a nice bonus when I go overseas. Unlike a lot of other offers, this one is a potential keeper.

uh oh

Am I definitely out of luck? Amex CSR was unwilling to give me the slightest gesture of goodwill even after acknowledging the agent I spoke with in August "lied" (a supervisor's word choice). |

Put another 10K on as fast as you can to get to 110K and you will have about $1800 worth of Southwest credit and a Companion Pass to take your wife along for free on all flights, paid or free, for 2 years. Then 1/1/14 have her do the same (assuming...). |
