You can get the points with any card that you use as long as you go through the link on AA shopping. I purchased items from overstock with a capital one card and got the stated 3 miles per $ spent, and I didn't even have that one registered on AA shopping.

Let's just say for example that it's still showing 83871 miles tomorrow; can they really argue that it's a mistake and they shouldn't have to honor it? Now the 83871 is showing up on the AA Shoping page, so any potential error may actually be on AA's part.
My point was that if a potential error exists for a few minutes then it would be easier to argue that it was one instead of the case where it is there for several hours or longer.

That is for earning points by shopping at retail brick and mortar stores. Just clicking thru the link while logged is all that is needed for online buying.

Well, I went in for ONE. Figured I got 100K MR points this AM with the add an authorzed user so maybe I'll get this too. I printed off everything so I have the screen shots and all the appropriate info. If it doesnt work out I put it on AMEX Plat for the protection and will just return it.
If this works out I have had quite the productive day, mileage wise that is!

I figured the reward justifies the risk. So I just made a purchase. But, in my AAdvantage Shopping Account, I don't see any transactions listed. I've never used AAdvantage Shopping before... should something be listed here?

3-6 weeks is what I see usually. It really varies quite heavily.
For those of you using Amex due to return policy... is it a Gold/Silver/Green card, or any Amex (i.e. Starwood) that works?
