Notice it doesn't say 83871 miles per dollar, or miles per item. If they were to honor it, they could interpret it as 83871 miles per order, in which case buying 3 on the same order wouldn't get you any more miles than one. For that reason, I'm placing several orders, and seeing how it all plays out...

I'll give it a shot. I would kind of like some bluetooth headphones anyway. I look at this like gambling and I have pissed away way more than this at casinos.

And also take a loss of $1940 on miles (on every headset no less) they must buy from AA to pay out to those who bought it.

Sounds legit to me.

Couldn't we ask Verizon to refund our money based on their own T&C's if we don't get the mileage post:

Verizon Wireless makes every reasonable effort to ensure the accuracy of the information found in this web site. Unfortunately, on occasion typographical errors, inaccuracies, and omissions may occur. In the event that a listed price is incorrect, due to a typographical error, inaccuracy, or omission, Verizon Wireless reserves the right to refuse or cancel the order you placed, even if the order has already been confirmed and your credit card has been charged. If your credit card has been charged, Verizon Wireless will refund your credit card for the charged amount. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Granted, it is for the "price", but we can make a claim we only agreed to the "price" due to the miles that were coming with it.

AA could always say that the shopper could have clicked on Product Details and see that you're only getting 13 miles for this order.

Don't need to see the product details before ordering

In my enthusiasm to get the headphones I just clicked "Buy Now" from the first page, and it took me directly to the Verizon site and I ordered it.

Only later did I look at the Product Details page with the 13 miles.

But you can click through without ever seeing that information. I simply clicked through the promised web portal advertising the lump sum miles.

Makes good business sense to me.

Just like installing slanted wedgie business class seats while your competitors install fully flat seats makes good business sense.

In for 3. Whats the worst that can happen when purchasing on an Amex?

1) Return them, out nothing but time
2) Get miles

Why not?

Any chance this is the work of a disgruntled/striking Verizon employee?

Actually my post was intended to be 75% comical. Reader can decide which parts.

What you value, what AMEX values, what Verizon values and what AA values that many miles worth probably may all differ from your $2000 estimate. Do I think the cost of awarding the miles is more than selling the headset - YES. But then again, airlines have probably sold seats at or below cost in certain situations - could Verizon or AA choose to do the same for say a retail product on closeout/clearance?
