Restrictive return policy makes this one a no-go for me.

Weird...

'Total Estimated Reward: 13 miles'

Maybe they caught the problem and it takes some time to propogate...

No, the problem is that your link doesn't direct to the "Product Details" page.

I have tried to convince myself that is the correct approach here,
but just couldn't get my fingers to type in the credit card number....

I clicked "add to cart", but there is no "check out" button. Do I need to register with Verizon? If so, they ask me for my mobile phone number.

Does that mean you have to have a Verizon subscription to order???

The box that asks for your mobile number doesn't have an asterick next to it, so that information isn't required.

The first step of registration is to enter your Verizon phone number. There is no way around it. Am I doing something wrong?

Didn't US Air have an issue with a mistake for thousands of miles with Booking Buddy. But in the end they honored all those purchases.

If you go to <Browse by Online>
Select <Electronics> and <Cell Phones & Service>
you get:

Overstock - 3 miles per dollar
Target - 3 miles per dollar
Apple - 1 mile per dollar
Verizon - 1258 miles
. . .

Clicking on Verizon shows it is only for cell plans that you get a total of 1258 total miles.

While the search page shows the 83871 for this one item, no other Verizon item I see does that so it is pretty clearly a mistake on that listing. Odd that it shows 83871 instead of 1258 X 60 = 75480.

in for 3. Thanks OP.

No doubt will have to fight for these points but 250k is worth the fight. Bought with Amex for a little backup.

AMEX purchase protection is the way to go.

Sadly, the AAdvantage miles DO NOT credit immediately, so there's no easy way of knowing if this works or not... This is true for all purchases on all airline e-shopping sites (that I know of).

I took the chance on a pair. We'll see what happens! Didn't think to put it on Amex, but put it on AA card, so... we'll see!
