Combining Hyatt and Chase Sapphire
I was wondering if this would work?
I sign up for Hyatt Cards (with the two free nights anywhere promo) and my wife signs up for the 50k chase offer. I then transfer her points to my new hyatt account. I walk away with 2 free nights plus 50k hyatt points? Is there any issue transferring her points into my hyatt account? Thanks. |
why not both of you sign up for the 2 free night card?
|
I dunno. That could also work. Seems like less trouble. Although I think 50k hyatt points are better than 2 nights depending on what type of room they put you in. 2 nights anywhere seems kind of vague to me...

Greed is good, go for both x 2.
It really is very little trouble. Make the spend to get the bonus and cancel when annual fee hits next year. Transfer is all online and is easy...as in a minute of your time. Total time for application, activation and point transfer is probably under 10 minutes, all in. Add in 5 min next year to cancel card. Project that out to see what your hourly wage is in savings and I am sure it will be several hundred dollars. No trouble at all. As long as you will use the free nights before they expire go for it all. |

Can someone tell me what differnet accounts Chase Sapphire points can be transferred to? I have Hilton, Starwood, Marriott, American Airlines and Southwest Airlines. I'm thinking about getting the Chase card and just moving the points over to one of these accounts and then canceling the Chase account. I've hunted on the Chase website, but I can't find a listing of what the accounts are and what the ratios are (ie. 1 - 1). Thanks!

I would do both, but just cancel chase sapphire less than 3 months ago. I think its too soon. Correct me if im wrong?

Any suggestions on whether to cash out the points or transfer to something? EDIT: Also, if I transfer to Hyatt, PC, or Marriott, does that instantly give me any status (gold, platinum, etc)? |

If your approved for the Hyatt Card, after you receive it and make a purchase, how long does it take for the free nights certificate to show up to redeem?

On the other hand, you can certainly stretch 50K points further than 2 free nights. Hyatt has many nice properties in the 12K to 15K redemption range (3-4 nights). With the 2 free nights offer, your best redemption is at one of the Category 6 hotels. |
