Twofer

I'm looking for a "two for one" free companion ticket from US to London, probably from a Credit Card. I know UA Mileage Plus card has a companion offer (not sure if it covers international or not) - does anybody know of other similar offers?

UA companion offer with the Mileage Plus credit card is not applicable for international routes. I think some airlines are offering a free future ticket if you buy a ticket to Europe - contact the airlines for details - I think USAirways is offering this.

SteinerboyCA: I think if you are more specific you will get more detailed responses. For example, where will you be flying from (so we can limit certain airlines that do not fly to the origination city)? What are you preferred airline(s)? Can you purchase business class seat? So on and so forth...

Couple of ideas that come to mind...

1) Icelandair - buy a business class tix, companion travels free. Ditto with Aer Lingus.

2) AMEX platinum - same as above on certain airlines. $300 annual fee.

Probably already noted elsewhere, but both BA and AA are offering a free low season ticket to london if you purchase a ticket for summer travel. You can buy two and get a free trip for two in the fall. Low fares are included. TW also put london on sale today.

Thanks for the info.

I'll be flying from LAX to LHR, and possibly on to IST. And as I am paying, it'll be coach.

I have already taken advantage of the free BA ticket. I have another trip in September (which I can't use my free ticket for) when my fiancee is flying as well - hence the companion deal sounds like a (potentially) good deal.

Are AA running the same promo as BA, or is it just that you could use the free ticket on AA once you have flown BA?

I checked the prices in Sept and $900+ seemed a bit high. I'll check TW.

As kyklin says Amex Platinumj is the way to go!

Alas, the man needs cheap coach fare, a problem I (leisure/coach traveller) often face! So the AMEX Platinum or business class 2-fers would not apply in this case.

Only applies to Canadian residents. The
Canadian Amex Platinum 2-for-1 is good on
any published fare operated by Canadian
Airlines, no restriction on full-fare
economy/business. CAD $350 per year.
