How to Opt In for Targeted Offers?

In the past I always opted-out of ads and promotional mailings from credit-card companies. Now I'm wishing I would receive some of those targeted offers that other FTers do.

Is there a good method for opting in for credit-card / airline / hotel spam and junk mail? :D

Lift a block for preapprovals with credit bureau if you have one in place

If you sent a request in the past to a credit bureau (I believe it was enough to send it to anyone to get effective at all three but I might be wrong) requesting not to disclose your credit report to potential creditors to get this block lift is certainly the first step.

Not sure if it applies to anyone or not but my TransUnion credit report contains explicit information when I requested this block and when it expires - so just review this info and decide whether it's in line with your current wishes

Disclaimer: I'm no affiliated with TransUnion in any way or manner - I mentioned this particular bureau just because I didn't see this info mentioned on my Experian or Equifax reports - might be just not been looking carefully enough though

That's great! Thank you, RedRiver!

Curiously, when I visited that URL with a Chrome browser the button was not there. When I switched to Internet Explorer, it was.

Clear your cookies. Same thing happens when you try to view certain offers. Amex shows you something else if you're a cardmember and have previously logged in.
