Applied for and received the 25K sign-up at the very end of March and blew thru the $1000 spend requirement in the first week. After reading initial postings on this thread called and mentioned the 75K offer and asking if I could instead have that as I had just opened the card and was obviously utilizing it. Was shot down twice and told that the 75K offer was solicitation only, sorry.

After reading the above post by singtx, sent secure message via rewards website. Within 2 hours received a message stating that although the 75K offer is solicited they will grant me an exception and give me the additional 50K as a goodwill gesture. Awesome deal, and great service by Amex.

Big thanks to the OP and others who relayed various avenues to securing the additional points. That extra 50K (or more) is a huge difference to any of us. Flyertalk at its finest.

SUCCESS! = (I wasn't immediately denied)

Your application will be processed as soon as possible, and we will notify you of the decision by mail within 14 days.

Thank you for applying!

MYB821: which one did they give you a harder time on? The one you applied for last year or the newest one? Someone had stated that the offer didn't come out till April so I was wondering if that has something to do with it... also what did you tell them in your secure message? Did you include the offer number?
I also went through the points guy link and deleted the cookies. I printed the web pages in case I had a problem with the 25,000 versus the 10,000 bonus points. Got online approval. Will wait for the card, make a couple thousand spend and then email the membership rewards regarding the 75,000 points. The only cards I have are the SPG card and the Biz SPG card.

I just recently got a Delta AMEX card this month. How long should I wait to apply for this?

I say temporary because you'll get another 65K manually added to your account once you call membership rewards and tell them the $500 required for the promo has been spent.

The Amex app processing department and membership rewards departments are totally disjointed on this promo. The key here is to talk to membership rewards first and get their commitment on manually adding the points to your account BEFORE the apps department processes your application.
I tried calling the membership rewards # twice, and was denied both times. Are there any magic words I was supposed to say?

Ditto. Shot down twice when I called membership rewards. Tried the secure email route and was successful. Many thanks to the OP and the previous posters who encouraged us to try contacting AMEX. These points will definitely come in handy!

So is there any way for a person that has never had an Amex before and didn't receive the offer to get in on this?

I am new to American Express charge cards. What kind of credit rating will it take to get accepted. Is it harder to get than the Amex delta for example?

You were supposed to say "oops, sorry, I meant to send a secure message like the nice people on Flyertalk so helpfully posted in their thread".

Argh, I won't qualify for this since I've been an Amex gold card holder for several years already. What are the churn rules for Amex charge cards?

I believe the secure message route works for people who have ALREADY applied for the card. What aap posted seems to be the way to go about getting the guaranteed 75K BEFORE you take the plunge and apply for the card. Someone please clarify.
