Another data point - denied on 6661 and 6608 on 2 seperate cards. Talked with 2nd level supervisor to no avail. Given corporate number to try who just connected me back to Membership Rewards.
For those who are interested in pursuing further, all calls are logged, and requests for conversations can be made via the regular CSR number.

Tempting to do it within 30 days and get the credit pulls removed. Painful because we got two biz cards too. This is unlike what I would have expected from American Express - past service has been really great.

Both the first and second level representatives were apologetic and indicated that the first CSRs we spoke to when activating the cards were misinformed. They did not dispute that the notes were made. When I asked the supervisor why 3-4 reps in a row were all misinformed and that suggested it was in fact policy at that point, she indicated that it wasn't something she could do and lose her job over. Tried to get me to write customer service, to which I replied that sending letters to a black hole was not an option. She then gave me the # for corp.
Spoke to a nice lady at amex corp office who also said that this was targeted only, even after I explained that this is not what the reps on the phone told us. She will follow up tomorrow and let's see if American Express is going to take their customers seriously. We spent $7k last month meeting the spend requirements and had intended to do more.
Again, this !#%storm is going to get worse as more people figure this out. On the business card, it's essentially a useless spend as the original terms were (I think) 25K points for $50K spend

Me too. I'll most likely cancel as a result of them not honoring their promise. CustServ was definitely a lot better in the past. I have 1 PRG and one PRG bus that I opened specifically just to get the points. *sigh*

No, everything was done over the phone. When asked if we were targeted, we told the rep no, but if they could check if we were eligible it would be nice. Got put on hold and told yes, you are eligible and we will notate the account (on both personal and business accounts on seperate calls).

I have two verbal confirmations about PRG biz card. The second one with reps assured me with id # back in late Aug. And now I wrote to them asking for written confirm and they said spend $2000 first then "we will research to see if you qualify". This is like a joke. I wrote again and they said "I can't do it" call MR #, They are playing circles to us.

6661
I think 6661 has expired, but does anyone have the full details of this offer? I know it was $1,000 spend for 75k points. BUT, I wanted to know:
a) Valid for 1st time cardholders? Y/N?
b) When did the offer start
c) When was the offer valid until?
THANK YOU!

Well, I'm trying my best to accumulate CO miles from AMEX, refusing to honor promised points really sucks (it's much worse than just straight refusal to notate/apply the promo). Once CO partnership is gone, AMEX MR points will be a lot less valulable to me since I'm not into BA/DL miles at all (even at 50% bonus level).
Maybe I'll just keep one AMEX SPG card, but all the Gold/Platinum/Biz/etc all will go.

I also was denied 60,000 bump despite having SM confirmation for offer 5995 from late July. Rep would not provide me with corporate phone number, just gave me their mailing address.

I'm in the same boat and fighting hard -- I think strength in numbers -- if the whole Cartera/AA thing got some traction - it would nice to see the same passion with AMEX -- more pressure, may mean those folks who were notated pre-Sept will get the points promised.
Here is the main Corporate Office # for AMEX that I called - asked to speak with a real person in Corporate Customer Service:
(212) 640-2000
The more that speak up now, the better. I doubt that anyone will be getting points in 6-8 weeks unless they open the dialogue now - notations and SMs seem to be mean very little as of now.

The response was apologetic and conciliatory, took down the facts (details, code, MR #) - -- and promised a call back in 24-48 hrs after "looking into things."
"I want to get you those points if you were told you could get them" - from earlier calls with MR, they said their "phones are ringing off the hook" with these non-matched promised offers blowing up. Lots of unhappy people=better chance to get resolution.
