I wonder if SM is just sending out the same email. I asked a different question and got back the generic 'you're not solicited... offer.'. Okay. That's not my question. Anyway, I'm having more luck over the phone.
I'm curious- if an account is linked to a promo by a rep, will the points post automatically or does it almost always require a manual adjustment? Anyone know?

Thanks. Good to know. I'll give SM a break. Tried a number of times to verify the added sign up (not the AU promo) promo in writing and I'm hitting a brick wall. The phone rep confirmed it, though, so I'm not too worried about it. It's just wildly inconsistent with Amex. One rep applied an incorrect code to my account (which my biz card wasn't eligible for), but I found out on another call for something else. One said it will need to be manually posted, and then the next one said it'll be automatic.
I guess YMMV is still the lesson.

It requires manual adjustment, and sometimes more than one call to get it done. Cases have been reported on FT of the request for manual adjustment being turned down, allegedly because the code that had been accepted was judged invalid after all. For this reason, messaging might be better. At least you then have a record that the code was accepted.

I was sent a second PRG card because the first was expedited. I have not attempted to activate it. The cards, the first I received, and the second (that came with all the fancy literature) have different account numbers. Any chance that it would be like some have reported on getting two citi AA cards of the same type at the same time and they were able to get both bonuses?
On another matter: The MR reps have confirmed getting 6661 on the account but now have declined the 6664. The first rep assured me I would get both, but now since having met the spend limit, the other reps (and superivisors) have recinded what the first rep confirmed. They claim that I was only told the difference between the two programs. But I recall the recording "beep" during the callm and during that call, I asked the rep many times to confirm that I would be getting both promos. Advice on whether I push it and require a transcript or copy of the recording and hold them to the offer assured, and even trying to cover it up? I honestly have never dealt with MR before, I had a Delta Amex Gold a few years ago but never needed to deal with MR. I dont really want to sour the relationship further, but I must say that I think their attitude and service is quite crappy.
Thank you for any help and suggestions on the above.

My partner had the same thing w/ the card expedited and then getting two, and we also hoped that we could get both cards activated. But their system had that one of the cards was lost (I think that's what they put in to expedite the second card, which got here first). Anyway I guess it's worth a shot but no dice here.

Yeah, I had my card expedited, and they actually both ended up showing up on the same day. What they told me when they expedited it was that basically, the first card was considered a "lost" card or something, and so they would re-issue a new card with a new account number and everything, and just ignore the one that came via snail mail. All this was then confirmed when I called in to activate the expedited card.

Still no love here. Applied for PRG in early Aug and received it 8/27. I have never had the PRG or PLT card but have had other AMEX cards (hilton,SPG). Have met the $1000 and called twice 1) for promo 6939 and 2) 6661. Was denied both times.
6939 - was told not targetted but call back after 25K posts
6661 - only for 1st time card holders
Darn, I knew I should have done this a month ago.

You'll have to call in and get points applied to pending after the spend. The 25K, 10K, 10K does not relate to the code.
