I wondered if it was an outsourced contractor and they were being 'managed' regarding the application of offers. Pure speculation on my part.

Thank you for your generous post. It is enormously helpful.

I believe code 6661 is for $1000 spend, and I am positive I applied it under those terms.

That is what was posted in SD forum .

Unless Amex is just making it up as they go , the MR rep told me $1000 and to further complicate things, he said I had one year, not 3 months.

I would prefer not to have to resort to calling them back, and as I plan on making a $1000 spend tomorrow, I would like to be certain !
Otherwise I will just spend $2000

can somebody post a working link for the offer of 15,000 or 25,000 that they are using to apply for this card and then calling MR rewards for the bump.

I tried the travel guys blog link and it tells me this offer is not longer valid

Your 6661 info is wrong. It's $1k/3mo spend for the rewards. Multiple reports on that.

Want to spend the correct amount
That poster was incorrect. everyone else has reported CSR's saying it's a $1k/3mo spend.

This isn't the business card thread.

I could have sworn I type "Personal" in my post. Oh well, it's corrected now:

To all applying for this card: Please send me a PM with your First and Last names and email address. You will then receive an email from Amex with the standard Personal Gold Rewards card offer. I get the referal points and you get to try for the 75K or 100K bump.

Thanks in advance

Are you sure that 6661 is sill working for applicants who apply today (whether using your referral or not)?

Thanks in advance.

I applied last week, got my card yesterday, and sent a secure message last night. The message I got back was disappointing:

Dear FlyerChrisK,

I sincerely apologize for the significant delay in responding to your email due to unusually high volume of inquiries.

Regrettably we are unable to extend the 6661 offer to you as this offer is by solicitation only. Please understand that not all offers can be honored for all Cardholders as they may have applicable terms and conditions that do not apply as such.

I understand that this may be disappointing to you; however, you can expect to see various promotions throughout the year for which you may be eligible. Our intent is to provide offers that will appeal to various interests and different types of people.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to assisting you in the future.

Sincerely,

Account Manager Email Servicing Team
That said, I'm in the market for a working code. Do any of the ones discussed on this thread actually work now?

Thanks for the data point, however, you should be aware that sending a SM has often failed for people with not only the 6661 code, but others in the past. The same applies to other flavors of the Amex MR cards. Calling and speaking with someone appears to be a much more successful route. My wife and I got 6661 successfully applied last week by calling, but had to call several times. SM attempt was shot down, as expected. I'm wondering specifically if NEW applications as of today - for example, if I refer a friend or family member to apply - will still be able to get 6661 to work by calling. From what I can tell, it seems so, but I'm looking for the most recent data points to determine. Thanks again for your input... you should give a call (or several) and see if that works for you.

+1 Call (800) 297-3276 Membership Rewards after you have card and speak nicely to whomever you get.

If not try again. And again
