I am interested in business card since I've already have the gold premier personal card, is any of the codes (6661, 6664, 5894, 5721) working on business card? any recent successful story?

Also, for the platinum 5748, is it expired? There is one post at another forum saying the code has already expired

If anyone is applying for this card between now and 09/15/11, please send me a PM with your First and Last names and email address. You will then receive an email from Amex with the Business Gold Rewards card offer. I get the referal points and you get to try for the 75K or 100K bump.

I'd appreciate input on the appropriate bump codes for a mid-August (pre 18th) PRG card. I saw the successful 6608 bump above but am hesitant to try as a) Frugal Travel Guy's blog this morning on new Amex system and b) used 6608 on Biz Gold successfully.

What is the current thinking? Thanks.

I just applied and got the PRG - asked about 6608 and they verified that is only for Biz. Soooo I looked at the list:

■6661: 75,000 bonus points; $2000 spend in three months
■5894: 75,000 bonus points; $500 spend in three months
■5985: 75,000 bonus points; $1,000 spend in three months
■5970: 50,000 bonus points; $500 spend in three months

and said, oh my bad, how about 5894? The CSR said fine I'll notate your new account for that bonus ID and confirmed the 75k/$500 in 3 months. We'll see . . .

Just a follow up on my original post, which I got denied the 75k bump.

I called MR rewards today and asked them to apply the 6661 code to my account. He said that he would gladly apply it to my account and that the miles would show up in my account after I spent the $1,000 in 3 months. I'm not sure if he misspoke and meant $2,000 or if it truly is $1,000 but either way, the bonus is still working.

I tried to finagle the 5721 code, which would give you 10k for each authorized user, but he immediately responded that it was only for Central and South American customers. Either that is completely dead for us or you have to get really, really lucky!

Wish I had tried the one with a smaller spend limit, but I'm certainly happy with my 75k bump. So as of today, the 6661 is still alive and kicking.

1. I just received my Amex Premier Gold personal card last week. If I sign up for the business card, will I be able to get the "new cardholder" bumps?

2. Is the 6608 bump still working for Biz cards, and if so, does anyone have a date as to when that expires?

Can someone help me? I'm wondering if I can apply on AMEX today for a PRG on AMEX site (i.e. without targeted offer)....then assuming I get approved, I can request to apply 5894 (or another offer) after I activate the card? I already have a Biz card (and successfully applied offer after applying for generic offer).

Also, any other success stories with 5894? Thanks!

That is exactly what I did - all today and not targeted in any way. Called to have 5894 applied before getting the card. Took a bit of talking as she did not feel it could be noted without the card, in the end I was told my account was noted as such. I'll report back when I get the card in the next few days. BTW, I have a Biz card as well.

Thank you everyone for the great input on this thread! But just to be clear - isn't this thread about the personal reward card (i.e. PRG) and not the business card (which has a separate thread)?

I have several friends that asked for 5894 and were all denied (since Aug 1). They then asked for 6661 and all were approved. They were also told the spending requirement was $1,000 in first three months so I am not sure where the $2,000 others posted came from.

I activated two PRG cards today (mine & Mrs. Aces), and called to bump the bonus. Was told that 5894 & 5985 were expired, but was able to get 6661 on both accounts. Was told it was 75,000 MR points if I spend $1K within 3 months. I'll have to call back when I've done the $1K to get the points manually added.

Asked about adding the authorized user bonus too but was told only 1 bonus per account. I'm not going to push it - I'll try that code after I've got the first bonus completed.

I have noticed that lately all PMs requesting promotion ID are all replied by Manager from India.

Has anyone noticed that?
