This is just a follow up on my progress with this bump. I enrolled under the 10k offer in May and called to have my account adjusted to 75k. They said to call back 8 weeks after meeting the spend and that they would put a note in my account in the meantime. I just called Amex Membership Rewards after waiting the 8 weeks since I met the spend and they added the additional points to my account on the spot.

Am I reading this right? You're redeeming your 75k MR Points for a $750 Home Depot gift card and selling it to your parents for $690? I can understand helping out family, but you have much better Points/$ redemption options available to you.

Should we consider selling something you got for the price of a credit check to your parents for a $690 profit "helping your family out"?

I recently received approval for an Amex Gold Premier Rewards Card (#xxxxx, reference #xxxxx. It seems there were several different offers going around when I submitted my application. I think I applied under the offer for 15,000 membership rewards points after $1,000 in purchases in the first three months. Would you be able to add offer # 5895 (75,000 membership rewards points after $500 in purchases) to my account instead as a one-time courtesy for a new Amex cardholder?
I just got shot down this morning using that same method. They said offer 5895 was for biz card. Going to try a different route or again w/ different offer code. Need to research...

Question regarding Amex Premier Rewards Gold benefits. I understand that as a member you can get 3x MR pts on travel related purchases using the card. If you go through American Express Travel do you get 4x then?

Got the 75k points after deadline

I applied for the Amex premier gold card on July 11 through the website (which I think has a 15k point bonus advertised) and was instantly approved. Since I am a first time Amex customer I didn't have a login to send a SM to request the additional points. I got the card in the mail Thursday, SMed Friday referencing #5894 (which technically expired June 30 I think), and got this response Saturday:

Thank you for writing in.

We value your membership and I've noted your account to receive 75,000 bonus points after spending $500 in the first 3 months. Please write back to me 8 weeks after reaching the spending threshold and I'll be glad to issue the bonus points.

I hope I was able to get a smile on your face.

Have a great day and keep smiling!

It kind of sucks to have to wait so long for the points, but not so bad for an expired offer with a $500 threshold and no fee.

Income question

Hi,

I was just about to apply for the Amex Gold for myself but I noticed that it asks for my income, not household income as the other apps I've completed lately did.

I have no income.

I assume I'd be turned down for this card since it is based on my income not HH?

I applied for Mr. AKP and he received instant approval.

Sales reps no longer ask household. New law. you will get the card based on FICO.

All the apps I've filled out over the past 2 months asked for household income.

6662

Opened a normal gold card with the hopes of getting them to match the premier gold card offer. Talked to a nice lady, who said while the computer wouldn't let her she could look up the best offer she could find for the standard gold card.

bonus ID 6662 is for 25k points after 250$ spend.
Plus its works for the 10k points very every auth user added with bonus 5721

no difference if you apply for 25K offer or 10K offer

From my reading (and I have followed this thread, even if it seems like I have not), it does not matter in terms of getting the bump to 75K whether you first apply for the 10K offer or the 25K offer. Correct?

Thank you in advance.

I don't think that it matters. I used the regular link on their website which was only 10-15k points and got the bump.
