Does anyone have any idea whether I can apply today and (if instantly approved) still get the 75K bump?

I know it expires July 1, but is that the application date, the date you call in, or the date your card arrives?

Thanks FT!
it should be based on the application date, b/c theyre looking to see if youre subject to that promo

No, it is the Premier Rewards Gold card.

No clue which credit bureau they checked. How does everyone find this out? The account disclosures?

Generally, Amex loves to pull Experian

AmEx checked Experian in VA on my last couple of apps. You can check Credit Boards for their Credit Pull database or get a copy of your credit reports.

I pay for monthly credit monitoring. I am just anal about it that way. Amex pulled Experian as did Chase. Seems to me Experian is the main choice these days

Haven't been following this thread at all, but I just got a targeted offer for a biz amex gold card w/ 75k bonus pts after $2k spend by Nov 15th. Bonus Id is 6556. Offer expires 8/16.

They've been trying to get me to sign up with them since late last year. I think I'll finally jump on this one.

I think you are correct. Our cards arrived today. When checking on the ID5894 being properly notated, the MR rep did look up the application / approval dates and said the cards qualified. There are already notations done by the SM reps from overseas but the phone rep based in AZ notated again just to make sure. But he emphasized the bit of 6-8 weeks after $500 spend. Though we know this is not necessarily true based on actual experiences posted here and via PMs.

You can see it from your credit report. I always request a copy of my credit report after some card applications even there is no denial - the bureau does not know you are approved or denied, but does know an inquiry is made on your report.

It is true in our case - always Experian on us. Citi used to pull EQ but now also always EX. I intend to think on top of geographic locations, it also has something to do with the issuers' contracts with the reporting agencies. Chase has always been EQ, so far. So we are lucky to not have all issuers pulling the reports from same agency. However I do see AMEX does Account Review type of pulls on our EQ reports also.

I got one too.

There is a RSVP number and the bonus ID. But when you go to open.com/applygold, as the mailing say, it only shows the 25K, $50K spend offer, with nowhere to enter the RSVP or bonus ID.

If you apply using that link, will they still honor the 75K offer they mailed?

Or is it better to call in or mail back the app with the RSVP number?

Thanks.

It took me 15 - 20 calls before the rep actually applied the 75k to my card.

Ask for Cathlene - Manager of CS in Arizona.

Trying to figure out how the spending works.

If I apply for personal card and it was for 25,000 points with $1000 spent/3mts and now apply the code to bump up to 75000 points with $500 spending, do I now only have to spend $500 to get the 75000 points or do I still need to spend the original 1000?

Also thinking of getting the Biz card but it requires a high spending , something like $50,000 to get the MR but if apply promo code will get extra points and $1000 spending. So same question as above, do I need to spend $50,000 to get all the points (as this is an impossible amt for me).

I applied for the basic 10k offer a couple of weeks ago based on the success stories posted here (quite different to what I expected after the initial handling of the offer!)

Anyway I was really pleased that I got the bump to 75k on the first secure mail! I get 10k after first spend then 65k after 500

On the personal card it is $1K to get the full 75K. From all the data points I have read and been told, the luckiest ones would get 50K manually issued after $500 spent, then additional 25K after $1K in total has spent. The least lucky ones would get 25K after $1K spent, then once that 25K is posted (presumably in 6 to 8 weeks after the qualified spending), the 50K would then be manually issued.

In other words, the offer is NOT switched to the 75K $500 spent, but simply match the total bonus pts to 75K - the conditions of your original offer applied for, stand. Your total 75K is made up for X pts from whatever offer you choose to apply (25K or 10K) when the condition is met, AND the balance of Y pts that would add up to the full 75K.

You'd get the 50,000 MR points after $500 in spending (after you manually request it - assuming you got the code applied via secure messaging, you'd just reply to the CSR who granted you the new bonus) - and then the 25,000 points would automatically post within 6-8 weeks after you complete $1000 in spending.

(Just saw Happy's response - sorry for the dupe answer :P )

Just looked at the link and same with me. No mention of the 75k online. I think I'm just going to fill out the form, make a copy, and mail it in. It's very clear on the letter they sent.

I originally signed up under the 50k promo, then called to match the 75k promo(ID 5984), they agreed to note my account. I just checked today and 10k bonus points posted, so I called in and told them I was matched to the 75k offer from the 50k offer so I have no idea where the 10k points came from. The CSR then put me on hold, and added 75k points to my account. Now I have 85k points in my account. I guess I got crazy lucky.
