Quick Question on SPG AMEX.

I've only had the card for 1 month and I am in the process of doing the $15,000 for the extra 15,000 points. My question is the following; Do I get points for the spending my authorized user does? Is it the same card number? Can the SPG be used at Costco? It would be for my parents as I am trying to cover their costco purchases and would love to get those points!!!

Thanks

They also tell me the mint likes it, but thats another thread.

Card number is not the same, but the accounts are linked where the bill goes to the main card.

If you do add authorized users, the AMEX website and your statements nicely differentiates between which authorized user made a particular purchase. I reap the rewards benefits of my SO's spending that way, and can easily tell her how much she owes on the bill at the end of the month.

All your authorized users need a SSN now also.

That's no problem about the SSN's. The mint is helping but trying to keep it at 10-12 days per order. So I guess the answer is "YES" I get the points :) Thank you!!!

Is this a very recent change? Last I checked, you could leave it blank.

yes it is. Even in the past they somehow matched SSN and reported it on my authorized user's credit file..

I was aware that a SSN is now needed, but they also report it to the credit bureau? I thought that the primary card holder is ultimately responsible for all authorized users charges so why would it be reported on their credit report. Am I reading you wrong?

Most CCs report AUs to the CRAs.

I love it; it's certainly added plenty of age to my credit report..

SPG Amex Business card

The SPG Amex is the best card you can get.

If anyone has been thinking about it and would like to apply for an SPG business card, I can refer you and you can receive up to 25,000 Starpoints and pay no fee for the first year (a $65 savings).

I too would get points for your referral. No business? No problem...

Send me a PM. Don't know what a PM is? Then reply to this post;)
