looking for advice: award level search engine/tool?
Moderator: Please feel free to move this to an appropriate forum if needed.
As you all know well, different airlines charge different amount of miles for the exact same flights. For instance, for a business class-trip on Lufthansa for SFO-FRA, Continental charges 105K miles, whereas All Nippon charges only 90K miles (with hefty taxes, of course). The best? Aeroplan requires only 80K miles. And the list can go on and on. That being said, I am curious whether there is an intelligent search engine/tool that can spin out required miles with major airlines if one just types in two city pairs. We can easily find hidden gems, I guess. Has anyone encountered a website/program that does this kind of job? |
I agree, that would be a really cool service if it exists! The closest thing I know if is this:
It was last updated 1/3/11 and only compares 5 airlines, but it's a start? http://www.frequent-flyer-miles.info/award-tickets/ |

I agree. I'm new to this game, so now that I have some miles saved up I want to make sure I get the most value when I redeem them.
wouldn't it be cool if a service like AwardWallet that tracks your miles program could also look up rewards travel options? For example, if I wanted to book roundtrip airfare to LA and a 4-day cruise, which rewards should I redeem? |
According to this very similar thread, sbm12 is working with GoMiles to develop a mileage pricing comparison tool.
It doesn't look like they are live yet, but should be interesting. |
