FTD Groupon any good?

You can buy a Groupon for FTD right now. $40 for $20.

CO offers 50 mi / $ at FTD if you have the card I think. This doubles it to 100 mi /$ + whatever mileathon credit you can swing.

Might be worth it. Don't know about how shipping works with the Groupon and the mileage portal.

The downside is that the 100mi/$1 does not apply to the shipping and handling... or whatever other fees they like to add on. Doesn't shipping start at $15?

Ok, then it's probably a bad deal. I wasn't sure how the S&H worked since I've never done it but I figured it might have been useful.

Am I looking at the wrong place? From what I see, it's 50 mi / $ when I look at the ShopOnePass site for credit card holders, 25 without.

FYI, the FTD groupon will likely be in the form of a credit that can only be used via a direct link, thus cutting CO shopping out of the loop. Proceed with caution.

Agreed. Don't expect any double dipping.

I've never been able to get mileage credit AND use a coupon code for the flower sites.

philemer Feb 9, 2011 9:40 am

offer doubled?

In the fine print for Groupon deal it says: If this Voucher is redeemed within 4 months of the activation date of the Voucher (or such longer period as required under applicable law), you also will receive a bonus of $20.00 additional credit for a total credit of $40.00 towards your order. The whole offer is here: http://www.ftd.com/19550/catalog/cat...t_grouponterms If you get a $40 credit it looks REAL good. Am I reading this right?

Correct.

Per the fine print on http://www.ftd.com/19550/catalog/cat...t_grouponterms

" This Voucher is redeemable at the $20.00 face value only against the purchase price of merchandise plus applicable service fees and taxes, available at the time of redemption at the following website: www.ftd.com/groupon "

Having to shop via that URL to redeem the certificate nixes any mileage bonus.

The way I interpret the offer is that it's currently good for $40.

If not used by 6/11/11, then the certificate is only valid for face value at $20.

Thus the "bonus" that Groupon is including is already factored into the $40 value of the cert.

"Groupon value reduces by $20 on 6/16/11, except where prohibited."

Where are you seeing this?!? The CO page shows 25 miles/dollar, doubled to 50 if you have/use a CO card. Any offer of 100 miles/dollar would ba amazing because most of us value a mile at more than a penny.

Didn't even read that part . Think there might have been a miscalculation there, otherwise it's time to stock up!

I know it would be amazing. Since the groupon is $20 for $40, you would effectively get 2k miles for $20, thus making it 100 mi/$.

But I guess you don't get miles on S&H and you can't stack the groupon with miles.

According to this article on CNN Money.com, Groupon has pulled the deal because of customer complaints.

Among other issues, it says that the prices shown on ftd.com/groupon, which you must use to redeem the offer, are $10 to $20 higher than those you see if you just go to ftd.com.

This is true. I was one of the "complainers". Hopefully Groupon will make it right. They said they would in the email I received this AM.
