Your wife says to you, "You have a one-track mind." and she is talking about miles.

oh I would never ask someone to BUY miles but yes... I want them as a gift!

How about... when you happen to get a glance at the online bank statement and ask your wife to come in here and look. And you get mad at her not for shopping or how much money was spent--oh no, not at all... But instead, how she ACTUALLY used her bank's DEBIT CARD to buy something at one of the stores! <GASP!>

Then you consider that if it were a mileage earning debit card that would be better, but how now, actually all of this was YOUR own fault because you forgot to put the Visa/MC back in her purse after having ordered more coins with it and she went to a place that didn't take AMEX.

And yes, I'm a fun person to hang out with. I have lists like this for the skiing forum too lol

1.When you know your mileage account balance but have no idea how much money your IRA account has.
2.When the first website you open in the morning is "flyertalk.com"

- You get up and leave a meeting because you told your kid to call when she is at the college bookstore checkout paying for books, and you need to give your CC number to the clerk.

Yes Ladies and Gentlemen, I did that today.:D

~when you have considered signing up for a thing or a promo not because you may need the miles or actually use that airline or hotel chain, but because of how intricate the deal is. And whether you can find any loopholes to make it work even better for you.

~when you have actually looked for jobs that involve the stuff we do in here--or at least the mind set.

~when you are standing in line at the store checkout counter and you see someone pay with CASH and you cringe and nearly step in to offer to pay with your CC so at least SOMEONE earns the miles on that transaction!

~when you actually do that at least once.

~when you do not mind paying a parking or even speeding ticket anymore because even those can be done online with a CC now.

that's so the best one.
I want to buy you a beer for doing that!
But of course I get to pay with MY CC... at a Idine place... in a city where I can fly in on an MR... and stay at a hotel near you instead of letting you invite me over... where I need to rent a car to meet you out...

1. When you start a blog or website that tells people how to earn free miles.
2. When you find out how much work it is to maintain that blog or website, and do it anyway.

When the small banks in your small town all have a poster up with your face on it saying... "Beware the coin man cometh" and you are no longer welcome as a customer in any of them.

When you wonder when the bloggers like gary will have apps for the smartphones.

when GETTING the app gives you some small amount of bonus miles just for signing up.

CMK10 Jan 31, 2011 2:57 pm

When you tell people your earned totals in one year and they say "how could you possibly have earned that many miles?"

When you pray for a flight cancellation so you can get a rebooking with an extra connection.

Marathon Man Jan 31, 2011 3:07 pm

when you get two dogs and name them...

Miles

&

Points

I so will do this if my wife and kids ever convince me to get pets (which I think makes life harder when flying lol)

onthego15 Jan 31, 2011 3:56 pm

When you're happy because there are more miles/points in your FF accounts than you have $$ in your financial accounts.

onthego15 Jan 31, 2011 3:59 pm

When you buy a new wallet just to hold all your new cards.

When you look at the cash in your wallet and wonder "What's that stuff for?

cmckee1961 Jan 31, 2011 6:39 pm

- When you are planning your next vacation to use your points while you are on vacation that you paid for with miles and points.

..

I have been trying to figure out a tactful way to do just that!

~when you do your grocery shopping at 5 different supermarkets in 3 different malls because your credit card has a promo on for 250 bonus points per $20 transaction.

jammanxc Jan 31, 2011 8:06 pm

1. You check flyertalk just to look for a free drink chit left in hidden places inside the admiral's club

2. You arrive at the gate 2 hours before the scheduled flight just to be the first in line to volunteer your seat

3. You never ever check bags in under any circumstances

4. You talk to the AAngels about problems with your wife
