I am getting this Member ID did not pass check digit error, anyone else get this?

Yes, I'm getting the same error.

EDIT: I figured it out. All of the letters in your AA number need to be capitalized.

According to the link, the promo doesn't start until Feb.6. tls

That is the time period to earn additional miles for actual stays.
