I used the 12.5k SPG points offer for MA in January and the miles posted after 2 months. Just adding a data point for others.

OK
OK, but watch out for these guys. They will increase your electric bill quickly and with no notice. Do the three months than change back fast! They usually take a couple of cycles after you notify them to get the change done, but for 25K miles it is worth it. Good luck and post about how you make out.

There is a lot of fine print. Read it slowly and several times. You realize you are getting in bed with the devil (as far a rates are concerned).
They are not shy about rates but at least when you ask directly they tell you they are not cheaper then the utility.
Good luck. It certainly has less risk than the other offers we have seen. Just do not trust them and verify everything.

12.5 AA
10+2.5 (cardholder) UA
10 US Air
7.5 SPG
will probably recommend she go for the AA if the 12.5K SPG offer has expired.

7,500 AA miles for switching to Energy Plus, now 20K (CT, MD, NJ, NY, PA and TX)
They offer in NJ to lock in your rate for 3 month and give you 20k UA miles ( 25k if card holder)

But be super careful with these guys as you MUST cancel as soon as possible or you will lose any value you gain from the points when your rates go through the roof.
I'm out next month. Currently, they are still lower than the other ESCO I swapped from (Green Mountain Energy 13.5 kwh) at 11.5kwh. I plan to swap to another ESCO offering around 8kwh next month.

I definitely would wait until after summer to do this, when electricity usage drops. Their rates are among the highest I've seen, but I understand 20K or 25K miles costs them a lot so I wouldn't expect the rates to necessarily be competitive.

be careful of the locked rate as they changed it anyway for me and I had to called in a few times for they to adjust it. I cancelled after the miles hit and paid approximately $20 more than I would have with PSEG.

I used the 25K United link - I switched over in I think February, and the miles posted a couple of weeks ago. They also guaranteed a lower rate for the first three months. My bill has been lower, but now that the miles have posted I might look into canceling. No problems so far! I also live in an apartment with minimal electricity use, so my bill was always low anyway.

Any current offers around 20k? This link still seems to work for NJ and the landing page is still there when I change to TX but when I click "Sign Up Now" it says it's not found.

So I just finished my run with these guys. Started out with a monthly bill at $33, ended at half a month at $60. Overall it took 2.5 months for my miles to post. I signed up under the United 25k bonus and received them all. My electricity rate in TX nearly tripled in that time but I knew it would but also knew it would be for a limited time. I figure I was charged an extra $90 but made over 25k in miles so well worth it for me. But then I am a low energy user. Good luck to all going for it.

MA resident here. I've pretty much ignored Energy Plus's junk mail for a while now, but their latest offer got my attention.
The signup bonus is pretty standard at 10,000 UA miles plus 2500 for Mileage Plus cardholders, after your second month. Fine print says that the bonus miles will post 6-8 weeks later.
However, the kicker is that they are offering a fixed promo rate for the first 3 months which is actually very reasonable, actually a bit cheaper than NSTAR.
Of course, after the 3 months I fully expect them to jack up the rate. But what I'm planning to do is to cancel just after the 2 month point. Hopefully that means that by the end of the 3 month promo period that I will be back with NSTAR. The only thing I'm worried about is that the bonus miles probably wouldn't have posted by that point. However, since I would have fulfilled the terms of the offer, they should still award the miles, no?
Is there anything I'm missing here? I realize I'm getting in bed with the devil, but with a clear exit strategy, I'm thinking this should work out well. Any thoughts or feedback would be much appreciated.
