Is this card worth getting for Canadians?

What is the best deals for Canadians? Is there similar forums like this for Canadians? Thanks for any tips :) Keith |
Yes, but use this link and you should get 20,000 and the first year waived.
http://www.rbcroyalbank.com/cards/ca...als/index.html When you decide to claim an award, you should either wait to convert to BA during a 50% bonus promo or use the free flight anytime option based on fare. 35,000 will get you a ticket in north america worth up to $750 (excl tax which you pay). Only downside is min 2 week advance purchase required. If you transfer to BA, remember that BA taxes and fees are as bad as AC and a free ticket can cost as much as some discounted fares ai. LOL ps "In order to receive the 20,000 bonus RBC Rewards points offer, your application must be received and approved by us by December 31, 2010." |
thanks for the tip :)
Sorry for my ignorance but what is BA? |

Sorry for my ignorance but what is BA? It's hard being a beginner here, so many acronyms! |
I guessed it meant British Airways but ya I didnt want to assume...
(When you assume you make an *SS out of U and ME ;) ) Ive signed up but not sure if I will be accepted. Thanks ;) |
I have this RBC card and it is good, however, it really depends on what you want out of a card... Using the points for flights is easy, but it isn't the best redemption schedule out there... 35K for a long-haul flight up to $750 is a bit limiting. I used this to book YVR-YWG last year and had to pay the additional cost over the $750 (during Christmas). But as long as you can book 2 weeks in advance, at least you know 35,000 points are going to be worth about $750. I've heard that the TD infinite card is very similar and might offer a couple more benefits. If you travel a lot, the AMEX Platinum is the way to go. Premium benefits like lounge access and trip cancellation insurance (can save you $100 per trip your travel agent usually charges). Plus, you get 1.25 points for every dollar spent and double for gas and groceries. However, the $399 annual fee makes it only worth it if you use the benefits, otherwise, you won't get your money's worth...
In my opinion, the RBC Visa Infinite is a good everyday card, but it has its limitations. |
