Issue with different names when getting miles?!
I was planning on signing up for a Citi debit card to get miles, this one:
http://www.aa.com/i18n/AAdvantage/pa...tCardOffer.jsp But then I discovered I still have my old maiden name on the bank account, while my FF cards has my new married name on them.. Will this cause any problems, as in not getting miles if the names do not match up? Added: the same goes for this one, https://www.chase.com/ccp/index.jsp?...&ID=0000010494 My chase bank have my old name, while my FF card have my new name. I know I can go to the bank and get that changed but if I still get the miles without having to go to the bank, that would be better.. |
Both these offers require you to sign up for new checking accounts. Just use your married name when applying, and they should transfer no problem to your FF accounts.

I fly on two different passports with different names and all I have to do is go into a united office and give them copies of both passports and then they change the points over.
This is more complicated than your situation so you should not have any problems what so ever, but if you do, you can show them your documents in your maiden name. good luck Robert |
Hi Daniella,
My passport and my AA account are in my maiden name. I have had Citibank mileage credit cards in both names and so far haven't had any problems with the miles posting. My US Air account is in my married name. Last month I flew on them using my maiden name, and those miles posted too. |
