Airmiles help in the UK
Hi guys what a great forum! This is my first post here and was hoping for some help. I am from the UK and am wishing to start collecting airmiles/be part of a good FF program. I travel around 4 times per year to either the US or middle east mainly.
At present I am a member of the Flying Blue KLM program - only have appox 8k miles and ivory status. In recent years i have tender to fly mostly with KLM as their prices are most competitive. Is there a good credit card which anyone can recommend to accrue miles? Which is the best FF program overall? Also is it possible for me in the UK to get a KLM credit card to help build up miles? any help based on UK experiences generally will be much appreciated. Many thanks. |
there is not a klm credit card in the UK.
Far better programmes our BMI Diamond Club (Star Alliance) and BA Exec Club (One World). Both have much more generous programmes than flying blue (although BAs is only better for expensive tickets) - they aso have credit cards with great sign up bonuses |
what is the best credit card with sign up bonus to go for currently?

Many thanks. If you really want a Flying Blue earning creditcard, you have 3 choices: - if you have a Dutch bankaccount, you can get the Dutch cobranded Amex card - if you have a French bankaccount, you can get the French cobranded Amex card - if you pay much in CHF, you can get the Swiss cobranded Mastercard But if you don't have those bankaccounts you don't have the first two choices and if you pay regularly in other currencies as CHF (like EUR or GBP) you don't want to use the third card. |
think its probably not for me. Still on the hunt for the best current deal to start earning miles....
if i were to go for a BMI amex card and later got a platinum amex are the points interchangeable between the two cards? |

In the UK, there are two issuers of Amex cards, Amex themselves (who issue the BA cards and their own cards, such as the Platinum) and MBNA (who issue the BMI cards). There is no relationship between the two, as far as I know. Also, see your other thread on Amex cards. |
There is also VS although they are not part of an alliance.
