Transfer miles between members?

Not sure if this belong here but:
Is there any airline where you can transfer miles between members free of charge without being related?

None that I know of. Airlines depend on breakage, and such a transfer ability would kill that.

ba has a family account which allows pooling of mi's for awards....

what do you want to do?....good luck...

Not that I know of. Some carriers (e.g., BA and Korean) allow for pooling of miles among family members when redeeming for awards.

Note also that the Starwood Preferred Guest hotel program -- which allows pts->miles transfers to a wide variety of airline programs -- permits free transfer of SPG points between members of the same household. Thus, Husband's SPG points can readily be coverted to miles in Husband's or Wife's airline account.

Amex Membership Rewards is rumored not to pay much attention, when you convert points to ailrine miles, to whether the target account is in the same name as the Amex MR account. Haven't tried this myself, so cannot confirm.

It's because I like the coupon exchange forum and it would be nice if I could tranfer miles to others if I didn't have to pay such a high fee.

You can't transfer miles directly at no cost, but in every airline program I know of you can get an award in someone else's name even if you're not traveling together. That doesn't help with every possible amount one could transfer, but it's often useful for this purpose. If you want to "transfer" a lot of miles, it also gets around the annual limits on direct account-to-account transfers.

AirTran Elites can transfer flight credits to anyone with no charge.

Hawaiian Airlines miles can be transferred free of charge to anyone that is a Hawaiian Airlines credit card holder. The recipient is the only one that needs to have the card.
