OMNI: Best steakhouse in DFW?

A buddy of mine is doing me a big favor (especially when you consider it means travelling on his anniversary!) I thought as a thank-you gesture, I'd buy them a gift certificate to a local steakhouse as a surprise.

Any suggestions?

Chip in a couple of free mileage awards and fly them up to Seattle for dinner at The Metropolitan Grill!

Second that, MileageAddict. In fact, in might be getting near time for a Seattle FlyerTalk gettogether in Seattle INCLUDING dinner at the Met. Save room for the nine-layer chocolate cake, please!

You can never go wrong with Ruth's Chris.....

By saying that, I can keep the Catcop off my case.

QuietLion, MileageAddict, megamiles

how about: Seattle, Metropolitan Grill, Saturday evening, September-4-99, 6PM(after the Marines-Bostono white Sox game, sorry: Boston Red Sox, thank you kyklin - my thoughts are probably to near to my favorite white sport: tennis)?

Jon: If you're sticking to DFW-area steakhouses, Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse in Addison is pretty decent (and big bucks).

Other ones highly recommended in the DFW area (and mighty pricey): III Forks. And you can't go wrong with Ruth's Chris.

Rudi: That's Boston Red Sox (as opposed to Chicago White Sox).

I agree with AlphaSig, Del Frisco's is top notch--you cannot go wrong there either.

Went to DelFriscos once. Very good steak, and I think I had the quail soup there which was excellent, not gamey at all.

Of course with a place like this... ADVANCE RESERVATIONS are a must.

There's also that fancy DALLAS area restaurant that looks like a Plantation house where a bottle of water's 10 dollars and you'll need a second mortgage for dinner for two. I have NEVER been there... maybe one of my generous friends will take me someday! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

And of course, you can't go wrong with Ruth's Chris where you MUST MAKE ADVANCE RESERVATIONS!!!

I hope to get Seattle soon and try this Metropolitan Grill. When I was there last all I ate was FISH!

Catman: if you're in Seattle and going to the Metropolitan Grill be SURE to let me know! I will serve as your humble guide and help share the 9-layer chocolate cake!

Rudi: I am so sorry I am going to be out of town during your next two trips to Seattle. I look forward to meeting you soon.

It is too far out for me to know my work schedule but at this point, I'll plan to attend!

Tuesday's New YOrk Times had a full page ad for the THree Forks steakhouse which said it's now reopen and ready to serve the finest steaks in Dallas.

Never been here... any steaklovers stopped by?

And can you earning dining miles here??? (This keeps the post from getting frivious!")

Rudi May 11, 1999 2:58 pm

I don't think that real good steak-houses (the very best ones) need full-page advertisements ...

ranles May 11, 1999 3:57 pm

How close is Seattle to Dallas? Seem like a few answers are bit off the request.
