other airline strikes ?
 

It seems the NW and AC strike come to an end. What is the buzz about other airline strikes ahead? (a strike of a big US-carrier like UA, AA, DL etc ?).

Some of my travel (about 50% of my flight miles, and almost all award-tickets) I plan about 6 to 10 months in advance - and I hate to be stranded.

In each of these strikes I have had about a month's notice at least. That should give time to rearrange things or develop contigencies. I changed my flights and flew back from Geneva one day earlier--the day before Air Canada walked out. Being Elite they got me seats in Executive First even though every flight was oversold with people trying to get back before the strike.

The machinists at USAirways may strike within the next two months (according to www.cnnfn.com yersterday). USAir serves international destinations from its Philadelphia hub and domestic destinatins through several hubs including Pittsburgh.

I have heard that negotiations between American and their flight attendants union, are not going well.
Delta is non-union except for their pilots, and they have a new contract. I feel safe booking travel on Delta for the next 6-12 months.

Rudi I think its open season now that the other unions from all the airlines know what NW pilots received.
