Any suggestions?

I still think the 35% bonus here is better than waiting to get the normal 25% bonus. The only reason not to transfer would be to keep the flexibility of SPG, or maybe to wait for another promo.

OK - I just did my second SPG -> AA transfer, 24 hours and 7 minutes after my first.

Am I cutting it too close?

I too am thinking about doing a second SPG to AA conversion. I converted 20,000 SPG to 25,000 AA yesterday.

If I understand the T&C, additional conversion should work fine. But I'd appreciate if you'd post here if you get the 35% bonus for both conversions.

Sounds like I won't know until Monday. In any event, I'll be doing one or two more before I really know.

I just called AA with that question, since the T&C refers to the transaction being "completed" between 6/14 and 6/30. I was also asking because we will have enough SPG points to do a 20K conversion near the end of the month, but it would not post until after 6/30. She said that the "completed" word is confusing, but it means the day the CUSTOMER completes the conversion. Since I initiated the conversation of Wyndham Rewards points right after receipt from Discover America program means that they will not be enjoying the 35% premium even if they hit my AA account between 6/14 and 6/30, but the SPG points will be, even if they hit my AA account after 6/30, as long as I do the conversion betwen the dates.

Hoping someone will tell me I'm wrong about the Wyndam Rewards points. Please.

Of course, this is assuming that WR gets the transaction "completed." It has been 26 days since I converted and still nothing. .64 cent per mile cost (I had 5000 WR from some other promo,) would go to .48 cent per. But, it could be like the bmi bonus WR promo that is now almost 4 months and counting from NOT receiving the Feb 2010 stay miles.

I just bought 1000 starwood miles as I was just short of 40000 in my account so will try a transfer tomorrow to AA.The miles posted almost immdiately to my Starwood account. Hate I transferd 60000 starwood points a few months ago but hope to get some benifit out of the offer as getting in range of lifetime gold

I don't see any registration requirement, which seems unusual. I'm not missing anything, am I? Maybe it's omitted because the bonus period is so short.

Does anybody know if I can transfer my SPG miles to my wife's AA account?

Starwood allows you to transfer your starpoints to her SPG account. From there you can transfer her starpoints to her AA account.

Can you confirm how many points you got when you transferred 20,000 points? Thanks.

Also, I am considering transferring from Amex Reward points to boost my SPG to 40,000. Does anyone else think this transfer is worth it?

I transferred 20k spg => 33750 AA...

OkieFlyer Jun 20, 2010 3:44 pm

I transferred 60k SPG to AA on four separate days this week. My transfers from M, T, and W all hit Sunday morning all with the 35% bonus. My 4th transfer was on Saturday and it did not post, so it appears that the cutoff for them to post on Sunday is Friday with SPG.

I also redeemed 70k Marriott points late on Wednesday night, and they where in my account plus the 35% bonus on Friday.

I got 75000 + 26500 for the transfer. You will get 168750 for 100k = 33750 for 20k SPG
Note - Below 20k AA, the bonus is 25% so 19999 SPG will get you 19999 AA + 5k aa 25% bonus= 24999.
If you can get to 20k SPG, then you get 8.5k extra, 33750

The Amex SPG transfer is almost NEVER worth it, but see how many you need to go over the threshold.
if you transfer 39999 SPG, you will get 44999AA + 35% bonus = 60749
at 40k SPG you get 67500 AA, so if the 3:1 ratio may worth it for small amounts only

Redeem -75000 06/13/2010 AADVANTAGE FLYER MILES
Even though it did not post for several days, the date of activity is the same.
06/13/10 AADVANTAGE HOTEL PT TO MLS BNS 0 26,250 26,250
06/13/10 STARWOOD PREFERRED GUEST 0 75,000 75,000
This leads me to hope that I will have the bonus for transfers on 6/30/10 as well.
