bizmiles: problems with mileage/points statements
bizmiles.biztravel.com/
I did suscribe to that service on july-16-1996 and it did serve me reasonably well to have a quick overlook at most ff-programs I did activly participate in (UA, HHonors, Sheraton/Starwoods, Marriott-miles/rewards). And wen something went wrong (didn't update for weeks - an email to bizmiles got an immediate automated answer a personalized email and 2-3 days later the problem was solved - since dec-98, if I mail them my problem (press comments/suggestions/problems on the website) I get the automated response with a # - but never anymore a followup later. Early last year UA "abandoned" the partnership with bizmiles. Since october-98 my Sheraton (now Starwoods) account doesn't update anymore at all (on the Starwood-homepage I get the correct mileage informations). I did doublecheck all my entries/personal-dates - they are correct. Since about mid-march-99 the Marriott mail-connection sometimes fails to connect and always doesn't reply anymore. Mails to Marriott (f.e. to change my preferred airline have no effect - they did function last year). Trying to update the programs shows a big list of possible new accounts (I would be interested to have SR-Qualiflyer, LH-miles&more; Hyatt and InterConti, etc) being included - they are listed there, but I can't include them. The Message link (which did inform till mid-98 about changements of the biz-program) is now for months empty. (and I did send, just now, a copy of this posting to biz.miles per email-link - hopefully they can help/answer online here). [This message has been edited by Rudi (edited 04-09-99).] |
Rudi: I think this 'service' is just about dead in the water.
The partners seem to be pulling out one-by-one, which makes sence, I suppose they want us to visit their web-sites. I used to use this service but the BA posts are months behind, Starwood never seems to work for me, Hilton is always out of date, AA is no longer available - the only one which seems to be of any use is Marriott. yes Merry - and for Marriott miles it is my only info systems about their credits.

I, too, have been trying to access bizmiles, and I have discovered something VERY IMPORTANT!!
Listen up, folks, the situation at bizmiles is very critical, and they ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ |
The mileage miner program from expedia is much better.

Use this link instead for Mileage Miner and get the whole year free (instead of just 3 months)

Unfortunately, isn't it correct that you must use Bizmiles for Marriott Rewards?
And at least Rudi received an automated response to his e-mails... I received nothing when I filed five missing stay reports. Bizmiles had so many missing stays I decided to check with Marriott Rewards directly over the phone... three of the five are indeed missing, but Marriott has two of them (the latest is April 2 - Marriott Mexico City for two nights). How can this be? That's four weeks ago and I know Marriott has this info... why can't Bizmiles show this stay? Agrrrgh. It's my turn for a nap. |
BizMiles was a great program when they had a bunch of airlines invloved to check all of your balances in one place. Now that most airlines are building up their web presence, they are pulling out of BizMiles so people will go to their own site, so they might also book through them and avoid paying comm. to an online travel agent.

Tute--you hit the nail right on the head, as they say. Everyone else has pulled out of bizmiles because they want to drive the traffic to their sites. Marriott has stayed in it because they have no points checking function on their site. But their hookup with bizmiles is incredibly lame. I have had stays that have taken about two months to post on bizmiles. Stayed at new Marriott in Birmingham AL earlier in April, for example, and the stay is still not posted. This is one of the things that has driven me to stay more with Hilton when I find the two properties to be comparable. marriott needs to wise up or they are going to lose business. As for bizmiles, "Put a fork in 'em. They're done!"
