And, when I think back to our last visit, I can only remember to have seen (guided by Gisela) Louis Vuitton, Montblanc, Ghucci or Rolex shops with prices in average "only" about 33% higher than in France, Germany, Italy or Switzerland. But our japanes friends did buy like crazy. So we better put a limit to our accompanying partner's credit-cards ...

You won't be riding on UA #57, the coveted PiP Express but here are two more ways of getting to Hawaii:

You can transfer 35,000 Diners Reward points from Diners Club for a RT on Hawaiian Airlines, a reward that usually requires 70K points. Note that Hawaiian only has West coast departures.
