checked baggage fees......is that only on Continental Airlines or can I charge my Alaska Airline tickets to the Continental Chase card and get the baggage fees waived?

It's for purchasing a ticket using the card for travel on CO.

Don't give up so fast. I also got the Chase BA card in Nov. and I recently applied for a Chase SWA card. At first I was denied (because I had a Chase card w/in the last 6 months) but I called and told them I was planning on using the card for business expenses (true) and the CSR finally said "OK". :) You may have the same luck with the CO card.

For those considering this - jump NOW.

I was waiting for a fee-free first year offer on this card @ 25K bonus and my patience paid off - an extra 5K RDM thrown into the deal.

Applied last Friday (2/19) and card(s) arrived today (2/25). Already made the purchases, so we'll see how fast the miles post to my OP acct.

I also got the BA card, though much more recently... in January. I applied for the CO card on 2/21. The 800-945-2006 # still says "7-10 days" but I called 888-270-2127 anyway and was told that just today the application was declined because of the BA card.

I asked if there was any way to lower the credit line on the BA card ($25K) and the CSR said she would have to close the BA card. I also have an AGR card so I asked if I could close that one, and she said no, I'd need to close the card opened in the last 6 months.

I tried to escalate it to a supervisor but she was adimant that nothing could be done -- the only thing I could do was close the BA card.

Well, I can't do that because the 100K BAEC miles would likely be taken away. So, I'll have to hope that this offer comes around again in the future.

I assume I should drop this for now... if someone thinks I should keep caling the 888 number to see if a different CSR has a different answer, let me know, but I assume there's now a record of this CSR's notes in my file so I doubt I'd get anywhere if I called again.

:( Too bad.

:( Too bad.

My wife is concerned too. She has the BA card and applied about a week ago for the CO. She got the BA card in Dec. so we aren't too optimistic. The 1-800 # doesn't recognize her SS#.

Thanks for the encouragement.

This offer is targeted. I clicked the link in opst #1 and saw the 30,000 mlles and no annual fee offer. I clicked "Apply now". It asked me for my OP login. and I did. Then the offer came back as 25,000 miles and no first year free. :td:

CO mileathon will be coming soon. No specifics yet on dates for 2010. Received this an email 2 weeks ago. Just want to rack in more miles before applying for the CO credit card :)

Hoping March will be start of the 2010 CO milethon.

dcv2002 Feb 26, 2010 9:52 am

My wife and I just got in the snail mail offers for these cards....

25,000 + 5,000 adding authorized user + 5,000 after 1 year + no fee first year....

So If I keep the card for 1 year I get 30,000 miles. If I add my wife I get 35,000 or we can both get 30,000 miles which with our current mileage would be two free tickets to Hawaii...

I guess I should jump on this?
