Ebay-Paypal-Bing Mile Deal

ebay paypal bing

BakerStreet Dec 13, 2009 6:56 pm

I guess they don't bother to check for collusion

You would think that buying a high-priced item from the same person 10 times in a row would trigger an investigation. Obviously not.

"Your purchase might not be eligible for cashback for one of the following reasons:

* You opened the store's website in a different web browser.
* Your browser is not configured to accept cookies.
* The purchase is not completed in the same web browsing session (not to exceed 24 hours) initiated by clicking the eligible advertisement or listing. This would include opening a new browser window or tab within the same browser.
* Your order was canceled or the goods or services were returned.
* The store didn't report the purchase to Microsoft.
* You also used a separate discount or coupon, a gift card, or a gift certificate.
* The goods or services were acquired for resale or other business purposes.
* You made the purchase from yourself or entities that you control.
* You've exceeded the annual monetary cap on cashback rewards.
* Additional limitations for purchases on certain store sites might apply. Those limitations are disclosed on the store site."

Not bad, $.05/mile without bing. I think I will try it once and see it works. If not, I still got a okay deal.

Bing cash is posted instantly into Paypal with ebay. I'm not sure how they would know since the accounts have different names and bank accounts.

I think the point BakerStreet was making is that you clearly violated the T&C. When buying coins, for instance, (until a week ago) it was not against any rules. What you have done is clearly not right under any definition.

Bing Rules

I would be very careful. THis is clearly against the rules and I"m sure that both Microsoft and eBay have the capability to discover what you are doing - including tracking IP addresses. May be better to look for gift certificates at card value or less.

And for fun, go to FatWallet to see some of the stories from folks who did similar actions . . . The successful Bing churners would not violate eBay terms by colluding; they would buy giftcards or stamps or gold.

I Considered doing the same just recently

until I went through the Bing T&C. I'm going the Ebay giftcard, stamp and gold option instead.. especially if they up the bing cashback percent anytime soon.

So I'm obviously with the others here. I wouldn't recommend buying and selling on a large scale from a family member on Ebay using Bing (to make a profit) and if I were to do it, I certainly wouldn't post it on FlyerTalk or anywhere else for that matter, for obvious reasons.

I believe it states somewhere in their policy that as long as it is a buy-it-now someone you know can buy from you. But what he/she is doing is against the rules because these materials sold are never actually exchange hands.

If you created one account at work and another at home you would not have to worry about the IP address. I would just never log into the account from both places.

Ebay owens Paypal, so it may be possible for them to access each other's information. I certainly would not do this from the same house if one of you was a power seller. The upside though with the power seller is reduced fees.

What makes me kind of think that you are lying about actually doing this is that if you did this there would be an added bonus you have not talked about ....

For some reason I always think people are full of it... you can ask mrpickles (I needed photo evidence :) )

Could someone provide a link that explains what this is all about for those of us who are obviously not as informed as we should be? Thanks.

How does this work ? Do you re-sell the stamps and gold coins ?

Bing from time to time offers cash-back on ebay/paypal purchases. Right now it is as 8%. It's up to you to figure out how one could profit from this.

I've used bing cashback on Ebay to buy things that were as good as cash, primarily Walmart gift cards since I shop at Walmart/Sams a lot.

Smart move, I would have deleted it too, some thing you should keep to yourself and not share and let people figure out on their own. Good idea though!
