Children's Meals in Long Haul Business Class

I am taking my (very well-behaved) 8 year old in LH business class this summer DEN-FRA; FRA-DEN (among others). She's a pretty adventurous eater and can often eat adult meals. What are the likely choices in business class this summer on this route? Should I order a special children's meal? What are the likely menu choices for that (she'd rather eat many adult items vs. some children's items, for what it is worth).

I guess they do although I never specifically looked for one.

When I booked FRA-ZRH-FRA last week with LX in C the booking machine asked for my preferred meal; I was given a choice of approx. 13 (!) different meal types, some of which I have never heard of. But at the end I ended up with a cheese roll.

Plenty of room for future enahncements.

Yes, on lh.com you can select your food and your seat when booking C.

Asking for a children's meal in J long haul is generally areally bad move on any airline. You are likely to get something like a burger and a juicebox rather than a much bigger and substantial meal with a hell of a lot more choice. My son has been selecting from adult meal choices since 2, I would think your 8 year old can cope.

*sigh* LH446/447 used to be my second home

well, about your question: there always is some kind of meat/poultry, fish and veggie meal so in your case, I'd not opt for the kiddie meal.

which is a crew mistake usually. I always order a special meal on the swiss short-hauls (since I'm a veggie), usually get served the ham roll or whatever it is, ask for my special meal, watch the FA disappear in the galley and come back again with a "oh, we were already wondering what that is"... so on LX it's no IT prob in this case

Hi,

LH has a wide range of special meals - see it on their website:

http://www.lufthansa.com/online/port...nodeid=1755207
(around 20 different meals)

http://www.lufthansa.com/online/port...nodeid=1788697
(in english)

And if I remember (I got a booklet with picture samples at a LH-training) there were some more (not so well known special diets).

You should order 24 hours in advance

Can't see a kiddie meal on this list, though.
So does it even exist?

Hi,

unfortunately - not an insider anymore.... left the business years ago and work now in an architecture office...

But I was sure, that LH offers a lot more special meals than many other airlines (when we had this training, I didnīt know what some of these special meals are made for (or what to prevent...) - I was very impressed....)

For my next Business trip I will order the kids menu. Let see, what I will get.

Because flynet is not working any more, I will enjoy Lu's World sketchbook with crayons, Lu arm bags and finger puppets, matchbox cars, jigsaws, card games with Lu themes.
